Clean, friendly, fun! Sweet helpful staff. Great place for a kids birthday in Salem Or. Hidden gem, this small business is an affordable solution to keeping kids busy and happy. The prices are fair, better than most gaming places. Pizza is good, but in this venue your paying for fun. Great game assortment, machines paid out in great kid prizes. Well done Donatello's, thank you! Vegetarian options: We liked the veggie pizza. Kid-friendliness: Kids can be kids, fun and affordable. Also the machines are generous with the rewards! Parking: Lots of parking Dietary restrictions: Our vegetarians were pleased.
If it weren’t for the fact that the pizza is good, I wouldn’t give them any stars. To start, I tried to place my order online to make it easier, added my pizza to my cart for $26, but breadsticks is not an item that can be ordered online as of today 4/18/22 so I had to call and place my order over the phone. Ordered the exact same pizza I had just built and the breadsticks. When I arrive, my total for the pizza alone is $32. I was quite surprised at the different prices from on their website. The manager said ‘his hands are tied and there is NOTHING he can do’ despite the fact that I explained, the only reason I called to place my order was due to the fact that they did not have breadsticks on the website. He continued to tell me he can’t do anything and I’m pretty much stuck. His lack of customer service is astounding. Since he just kept rolling his eyes at me. I highly doubt we will be ordering from them again. Maybe Garlic Jim’s or Odd Moe’s will have better customer service.
Overall, this is a great place. The pizza is exactly like Pietro's, which is super nostalgic for anybody who grew up in the area before the 2000's. Quality is consistently good, whether you order for dine-in, take-out, or delivery. The prices are a little higher than I'd like or expect, but it's not outrageous. The salads are fresh and HUGE. We've been to many birthday parties here over the years, and had a couple for our children here as well. I wish they had more organized party packages - you kind of just reserve a spot, and then order pizzas and buy tickets for the kids ad-hoc. It would be great if you could just give them a number of kids and preferred toppings, and they would just provide game cards, pizza and drinks based on that number, but this is a minor quibble. The games area is great. There are enough games to keep kids entertained, and they're in good working order. I miss the days of tokens - especially with younger kids that don't have any concept of numbers outside of physical things, it tends to lead to more surprised "I thought I had $10 left!" conversations. That being said, it makes redeeming tickets WAY faster/easier. We usually go into the restaurant to eat, but our last experience with Donatello's was with delivery. The pizza showed up before the quoted time, was hot, fresh, and very delicious. It would be nice if they had an online ordering system/app, but calling in was quick and straightforward. The pizza turned out to be a little cheaper than I was quoted on the phone, and I paid in cash, so the delivery guy got a pretty awesome tip. Vegetarian options: Lots and lots of vegetarian options including salads, but they also have vegan cheese as an option - I'm not even close to a vegetarian let alone vagan, so I haven't tried it, so no promises on that front, but the salad is good, and has a lot of veggies with it. Kid-friendliness: We've come here with our kids a ton of times, and they've thoroughly enjoyed it every time. There's enough games to keep them occupied while we wait for pizza, and we haven't run into any sort of unsafe scenarios with other kids/adults. Overall, this is a very kid friendly establishment. I have yet to meet a kid that didn't like pizza... Parking: The parking lot is pretty big and easy to find spaces in. It's not in super great shape, but it's not full of potholes or rough patches either. It could be better lit for night time/winter. Dietary restrictions: we went here a little while ago while my wife was on an elimination diet to test for food allergies. We had a couple of questions about what kind of non-traditional pizza crusts/cheeses they had, and were very pleasantly surprised that they had two different kinds of alternative crusts, and many options to make pizza without common allergens. They're all comingled in the same oven as far as I know - which they were very careful to make sure we understood. They were way, way helpful and super concerned that we had options that would work for us.
This place has done so much for the numerous birthday parties myself and the mutual friends that have booked over the years. Anytime there’s been a minor discrepancy their staff have handled it with poise and continues to overcompensate for any mistakes made. This place has upgraded their games and they have the best arcade in south salem. Extremely family oriented and they are making changes to their games and party system for everyone to be able to Have a great family-friendly experience. Please consider this place for birthdays and family nights. Your children will have a blast and the seating area is great for for parties and families. The staff are extremely attentive, the young girls are absolutely amazing at their job and so sweet. They are constantly checking on their customers and working their tails off and half of them are still in school! The most humble individuals by far. Thank you guys for being an amazing family fun place for us to continue to make memories and thank you for hosting our birthday party this last weekend! We have so many events to come and we cannot wait to enjoy them with your help!
This was the strangest pizza I have ever had. It was like a tomato tortilla with grocery store mixed shredded cheese on it. I expected dough sauce and mozerella. I have had better pizza from 7-11.
So many different kinds of pizza combo's we ordered 4 individuals and a med taco chicken so we could try a few. They were all amazing! Probably my new favorite pizza place in Salem/Keizer area. Service was great. The only reason I gave only 4 stars to atmosphere is because we got ours to go.Food: 5/5
Pizza looks AMAZING but doesn't taste good. The sauce is yucky. Great staff, super games, but hard to get service when needing extra cups, etc. - had to search for staff to assist. Game prizes worker was very patient & helpful. Bathroom entrance painting is the BEST.. so trippy. Lots of birthday parties here. You'll hear Happy Birthday sung once or twice an hour on a weekend. The place stays under control even with 3 birthday parties going at the same time.
This place isn’t what it used to be. They got rid of all their dine in tables in one room and only left a few on the arcade section. They turn away families who are looking to just dine in because of the lack of seating/room they have now. I came in with my kid and the employee's exact words were “we might have room if it’s only you two” Not only that but their pizza doesn’t taste the same as before. I’m so bummed! The environment was so different and I did not feel welcomed. Won’t be returning.
It is really sad how bad they have gotten. Went there last weekend and the service was horrible. We had one young man in a pink shirt that was smiling and did what he could to help us. It started with only getting one table for 25 people individuals. There was another table that was not in use till 5. So they said we could use it. 5 min later they said no and we needed to remove our stuff. Someone came in without a reservation and they gave our table to them. We ordered our pizza before anyone. The party was from 11 - 1. Everyone else around our party got there pizza. It is now 12:30 and we just got our pizza. The pizza was nothing like before. We had 20 minuets to eat, open presents and cake. Exactly at 12:50 they told us we had to leave. Staff never smiled.
The green salad was great and they have some really good ranch dressing. The service was crazy slow considering all that I ordered was a salad and breadsticks. The games for kids looked amazing.Food: 4/5
