Finally made it to Doriola’s on a trip in from the bush after reading about it in the foodie papers. I came for the Friday night BBQ and got the brisket with red and white sauce with pork belly bombs, corn, tangy vinaigrette coleslaw and baked beans. OMG, it was so good! I’ll be back for that quiche on my next trip.
Great quiche and coffee!!! Cafe hours are inconsistent at times. On several occasions, they have closed earlier than their business hours. So, I haven't stopped by again. Best to be there around noon. Any time after l, you run the risk of an employee locking doors early with no regard to customer. That's about it. I would have given 5 stars if cafe hours were kept and they offered better menu items. The sandwiches are ok. The cookies are ok. I just like their quiche because everything else was just ok and not worth price or quality just wasn't there.
2nd visit and still blown away by the amazing food, the Southern Green Chili - Pimento Cheese is PHENOMENAL! An amazing flavor burst in my mouth. The Smoked Gouda and Potato soup was just as amazing. I am already looking forward to the third visit!!! Amazing!
This is one of my favorite spots to eat in town. Small cozy atmosphere with friendly wait staff, they have excellent food and offer beers. It's my opinion that they have the best quiche in Anchorage. They also are reasonably priced and you can get a good meal for about 15 dollars.
The menu had a lot of tasty optins. Too many restaurants I end up choosing not something that looks good but something that doesn't look too bad; Doriola's consistently has me has me choosing between two or even three meals that look delicious. I have never had food I didn't like. I love the mini cookies that come with the check. The many art displays are a treat for the eyes. Not just paintings or drawings either. They had gorgeous quilts, small ones called art quilts, one month. There's seating out front for smaller groups1-4 or 6, and larger groups in back.
The food is good every time we go for lunch. I generally get a version of a BLT, though sometimes opt to try one if their specials. One star off bc I asked for the chef to go easy on the chipotle on my sandwich and instead of just putting a little on both halves, they put it all on one half and none on the other. The walls are always fun to look at what with art displays that change roughly monthly. Last time they were quilted pieces that were fantastic. Such an array of styles. Realistic, modern, traditional, photo etc. I always look forward to a visit to Doriolas.
I love this small lunch spot. Very friendly service. Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Alot of gluten free options. Nice art that changes regularly.
Lunch is always hearty and delicious. And for dinner Fri/Sat I once had rack of lamb that was perfectly cooked!
Do not miss the BBQ pulled pork, brisket, ribs, pork belly bombs, potato salad, Mexican corn dish, cole slaw, and everything else! This is home cooking at its finest!
Delicious soups and sandwiches for lunch! But, the rack of lamb for dinner was perfectly cooked and very very delicious!
