Dorothy's Lei Stand

Do not go to Dorothy. She purposely misled us into thinking one price and then charged us another! The woman with her took our card and charged us so we couldn’t question it while she chatted us up and took our picture. We were thinking she was just being nice but she was really just distracting us while she over charged us. The leis were beautiful but she needs to be more honest with the price. She said “2 for 15” and I responded “2 of them for 15?” And she confirmed.I don’t know the usual price of leis but she was offering one for 8 so I didn’t think that was unreasonable to assume. Turns out she charged us 15 for EACH of them.

This review is specifically for Stall 3 of Dorothy's. Ripped me off by charging me $110 on a $20 lei. I agreed to purchase a lei for what I was initially told was $30. I get the receipt and it's $130!! I asked for a refund and the auntie countered with an offer of a $20 lei, then a refund for the remaining balance of $110 back to my card. Months later, I check my statement and she charged me $110. It's outside the window for me to dispute the charge. AVOID these scammers and buy your lei well in advance of the airport.

My family has been getting our lei from Dorothy's Lei Stand since they were located near the old airport on Keehi Lagoon in the 1960's. We wouldn't go anywhere else. The people, the service and their prices are 'da best! Dias Ohana. Aiea, Hawaii.
