DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Columbia, South Carolina

I always like coming to stay here, the staff helpful and greet you with a smile. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel bar has great selections, I miss social night and hope that will return. The pool is awesome wish they had a indoor pool as well. William was very helpful and didn't complain no matter how many times we needed him.

Anna at the front desk was a delight. We were in town to find housing and schools for our 3-year old when we move to USC for my wife's Post-Graduate School. They helped us with questions about the area, gave our little guy some snacks and were generally nice people. Then after we had checked out we realized that our son had put my wife's belongings into the dresser drawers without telling us. Including my wife's wallet. So, we had to turn around quickly and drive back 30 miles and the front desk crew along with the cleaning crew had already had our belongings bagged up and waiting for us at the front desk. What a relief! We will be coming back to Columbia for the next few months while we continue to look for a home and schools and we will be staying at the DoubleTree. OH... and the breakfast was good and the guy working the bar was nice and liked to chat about sports.

The best thing at this hotel was the lobby area. On 9/9 I stayed at your hotel for 4 days and 3 nights in room 424. I was there for a summit that was being held at the hotel. The room was dated but that part wasn’t a big deal because I would be at the summit for the most part. Well, when I returned back to my room to take a hot shower. The water did not get hot. I mean it was ice cold. I mentioned to the receptionist Dave so rude at the time, the accommodation was unsatisfactory because my room had no hot water. Dave advised I would need to cut the sink on and the shower at the same time for 30 minutes to get it hot. I waited and it switched from ice cold to room temperature cold. I called back down and he told me the best thing he could do is leave a message for maintenance. When I asked to be moved to another room, I was told that this was not possible I would need to wait. The next day I met Neil who advised this is a ongoing problem at the hotel. To no avail we thought he fixed the problem. The water got warmer but he also told us to keep the sink on. Come back to the room and still no hot water. Next I spoke with Zy, Cheryl, and Anna about the issue and they all advised they would get back to me. I was even advised I would get a text or call to my personal cellphone because I was working the summit at the hotel during the day until the evening. I had a lot of patience because they never offered to change my room until literally my last day there. Nothing would have been done if I didn’t catch Zy getting ready to go home and asked her what are we going to do? She said everything was taken care of. She handed me off to Cheryl who told me they had me down to refund 1/2 a day. I told her that was unacceptable because I only had hot water for 1/2 day. She offered to refund the rest of the nights and I would pay for one night ONLY and she would provide 15,000 points because they dropped the ball. I get back home and did she do what she promised OF COURSE NOT. I called and spoke with her and she totally went against what was agreed. I asked for corporate or the office of the president she told me she didn’t know it and to use Google. So I used google to write this review instead.

The service from when you walk through the door to when you check out is amazing. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were a comfortable size with everything you need. The resturant and bar attendants were very polite and you get service with a smile.Rooms: 5/5

We were in line to check in for over half an hour. Only one person checking in and it seemed almost every one had a problem with their reservation. We were offered a cookie but no water. When we got to the room, the wall plugs wouldn't even hold the plug and the ones by the bed weren't big enough for two plugs and the USB ports didn't work at all. We were sadly disappointed the Hilton Doubletree. When the check in clerk heard the discontent from the guests, he just said talk to the manager in the morning. We did ask this morning, but the manager wasn't there yet. Wouldn't recommend at all!

The young lady working the counter just now was rude to me. After checking in she said I don’t have time for y’all under her breath. She also had air pods in and was not willing to help her coworkers. I’m not understanding how she is allowed to do this? I love this hotel but it put a bad taste in my mouth. Customer service is everything.

Really nice and helpful staff! But there are non working locks on external doors, buckets catching water and water damage in hallways. Rooms in Building 1 smell damp and moldy. Stay in building 2 which is newer.Rooms: 2/5

So close to the interstate, I had nightmares of cars crashing through the bedroom window. Front desk clerk was rude, ill-mannered. Booked a king bed, was given two queens. Abysmal internet speeds @ <15 mbps.Rooms: 5/5
