Dougie's Jamaican Cuisine

The price keeps going up and the food and containers are getting smaller. I ask the lady to fix my food and they refuse also refuse to give a refund. This is what they gave me as a large food. This is suppose to be a medium and priced as such. I didn’t even want to give it a star but I do like their foods.

There service sucks. I called and order a shrimp meal which is required to do half hour before picking up. When I got there no food was ready and waited 10 mins and they still didn't start cooking. I'm done with this so I walked out after waiting so long. Dougie needs to do better than this. This is not the first time. And need better customers service people

I ordered chicken roti . This is what they gave me. BBQ roti. When I complained the women said I didn't specify curry. I didn't specify BBQ either and the option only said chicken. Plus the roti skin was oily.

So, I typically don’t complain or leave reviews anywhere but I had to so do that other don’t waste their time and/or money. $28 for a “large” oxtail and bottle of coconut water. I inspected the food as I received it and it definitely looked like they skimped on the meat but I didn’t wanna be that guy so I was like whatever, maybe they’ll make up for it on the taste they did not. Just ate half my meal and I just had to express my displeasure. I received a bunch of bone. Barely any rice. Other than that, it was nothing special. I don’t know how they get away with calling this a large. I’d be better off at a Golden Crust. Too bad I didn’t feel like cooking tonight. This was a waste. 1/10. Oh, and as typical with most of these Jamaican restaurants, the lady seemed to hate her job. Update: Could not finish this. Just unappetizing.

I placed an order for curry, goat, white rice, extra gravy with plantains on the side along with othe dishes for the family. Extremely dissatisfied when I opened up my tray and found a whole bunch of rice and literally four pieces of goat. To make matters worse I call Dougies, and apparently there was no manager there for assistance . $15 for a plate of rice and gravy. This is why Black people will never succeed. .

So last week I went for a cornmeal porridge That porridge was the saltiest porridge I ever ate in my life I never even had potato chips with so much salt the worse never again Dougie lost there touch.Food: 1/5

It brings me sadness to have to give a poor rating of the food because the cashier was so friendly and kind. However, this was my first visit and when I got the food home it smelled and tasted burnt. I ordered the oxtails meal, which came with a heaping mound of mushy rice and peas, 4 boney pieces of oxtail and a side of raw cabbage salad. It was horrible and I tossed the entire meal out.

This was my first time, and my last, I’ve never tasted such horrible Jamaican food in my life. I live on Staten island where there’s no Jamaican restaurants at all, so surely being a native of Brooklyn I thought the food would be popping NOT. Someone told me to go to peppa’s on flatlands but wanting to get back on my way I gave them a try. Disappointment at its highest. Don’t make the same mistake I did..
