Restaurant still looks the same as it has over the many years; table and chairs are nice, the large windows brings a lot of daylight in. Nothing fancy, just comfortable. My family decided to dine in. Food does take quite some time to cook so if you're in a rush, it's best to call ahead. We ordered 7 dishes and it took 30 minutes for the first dish to come out. Our favorite dishes were the Double Cooked Pork, Whole Crispy Flounder, Ginger Scallion Fish Fillet, and Ma Po Tofu. Those 4 dishes had great flavor in their sauces. Fish was lightly fried perfectly and tasted fresh. The leeks on the Double Cooked Pork needed to be sliced smaller to cook evenly, it was tough to eat. Sweet and Sour Pork was a bit over cooked. All the food came out piping hot, which I love! The lady in the front was kind and stopped by often to see if we needed anything. Prices are comparable to other fast Chinese Food restaurants. Food portion to cost ratio was good. One of my siblings mentioned they should take off "express" from their title. I likely won't go out of my way to eat here, but was happy to try it out again with the new owners.
Another huge disappointment!! Crab Rangoon burnt. No sweet n sour sauce to try to choke it down..no chop Stix no soy sauce in the bag. I ordered beef mushroom as you can see in this picture no mushrooms very little beef. My husband ordered general Tao Xtra hot. They threw a bunch of Chilli peppers on top no pictures he had already thrown it away. The rice had no flavor. 31 dollars . Thrown away and I called our usual instead.
As you can see from the picture the pork was uncooked and I couldn't eat it. The chef should do better . Happy I didn't get poisoned from it. If you want a fast food this isn't fast but slow food . Avoid this place thank you.Food: 2/5
My family has been coming here for years. Since I find myself in Wichita intermittently these days, I was so thrilled to walk in and see all the upgrades they have! Their care for their customers is evident in all the additional COVID touches. Contact free pay, plastic barriers at the counter they're hard to see as pictured and alcohol wipes and hand sanitizer grace every table. I walked in at 11:00 on the dot and was promptly helped by the wonderful, masked staff at the counter. I got my favorite, their Flounder in Oyster Sauce, but have brought visitors and friends here many times over the years and regardless of their background they have loved the ethnic Chinese served here as well, from their wonderful vegetarian dishes like Mapo Tofu to their hearty Roasted Duck. What's more, I've never had a friend be able to finish their generous portions. You can't beat the value you get for the reasonable family style served dishes you get at this price. If you have to wait for your food, keep in mind that they serve a huge array of food for such a small business- I mean, just look at how huge their menu is! Of course they won't be able to crank out food as quickly as Chipotle, where every order is a variant of the same thing. And all your food is cooked not just custom but fresh right away, rather than reheating last night's meals and languishing in the open air. This business is a true pillar in the Chinese community here in Wichita and well worth your business. You won't regret ordering here; and you certainly won't find better ethnic Chinese in the whole city!
Order from the Chinese menu and you won't go wrong. So far I haven't had a dish I did not like. They dont have any prepared American style Chinese foods anymore.thank God.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Both of the people I saw working in the main room were really kind to me and my family, and the food was straight-up excellent. Wheelchair accessibility: The parking lot's ramp up to the curb is pretty close to the restaurant.
So nice had an amazing time having lunch with a friend! helpful and recommended options for us! Amazing food! One of the best places to eat for sure!
The steamed bbq pork buns are from Trader Joe's. No, really, go get the frozen Bao Buns. They are literally the exact same. Nothing else we ordered was anything to write home about. Not very flavorful, not very fresh, the crab rangoons taste like cream cheese frosting. And only one fortune cookies for two entrees. Bummer.
I ordered my meal online. When I arrived they were not able to make what I ordered but gave me something similar and replaced the appetizer as well. The food was fresh and tasted GREAT. The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. I will definitely go back and try this place again.
The woman I ordered from was nice, I ordered at the counter to eat there but did not specify so my food came in a to go box. Came out hot and fresh, good flavor.
