If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would. Front desk person was not friendly and not concerned about how late everyone's appointments were getting pushed back. When I arrived early by the way, there were 5 people in front of me, and not enough stylists, so I started to get concerned after 30 minutes of waiting. I had an appointment for 4:30PM and waited for an hour before I was taken care of. Another woman had a 4:15PM appointment and still wasn't even in a chair yet! I had an event to get ready for and was severely delayed; I was late to the event of course. Stylist was apologetic but unfortunately, she was clearly rushed and the style reflected it. The curls didn't hold at all, my hair looked worse after getting it done than when I walked in. My hair style was frizzy and limp, it was a really horrible job. I had to restyle my hair as best I could after getting home and had virtually no time to get ready since my blowout was delayed and awful. This was my first time here, and I will never return or go to another location. Take your money elsewhere, do not waste your time or money here!!! Very understaffed, not an ounce of concern for their customers, disappointing results.
I wish I would of read the reviews before I booked my appointment! My experience sounds way too familiar to the reviews already posted here. My appointment was at 6pm and I got there early about 5:20pm because I was in the area and didn’t want to leave and come back. I checked in and told the girl I was early but I was just going to wait for my appointment at that time she said they were running 45 minutes behind so I wouldn’t get into the seat until 6:45 so I said Ok and I asked if it was Ok if I left and come back. The girl at the front desk said that was fine and to make sure I was back by 6:30 so I did just that and was back by 6:15. I checked in again and waited again. It wasn’t until 6:50 remind you 50 minutes after my scheduled appointment that the girl at the front desk said they are running too much time behind and 2 stylists were going home now and that they were not going to be able to do my hair!!! Then proceeds to ask me what did I want to have done...I do believe you should be able to see the service I booked on your system...but I told her and said it was wash, bay breeze treatment and loose curls. She then asked me well do you want to just curl it?!?! Are you serious?! I booked my appointment because I needed it washed and styled before I had to fly out in the morning! Nobody in this location even cared of the customer service I was given or lack of... not one apology was given. If they knew they weren’t going to do my hair they should of told me so that I could of went to a different location. I am so mad and disappointed in this location and this company!!!! I have been to many drybar’s but this location is by far THE WORST!!! Don’t go to this location!!!!!!
When I arrived at my appointment, they did not bother to inform me that they were running very late. After 10 minutes, I informed them that I was going to a wedding and asked them if they were running late. That is when they informed me that they were running at least 30 minutes late and the next available appointment would be 1.5 hours after my original appointment because they were so backed up. They did not apologize, and it was abundantly clear that this happens all the time. They also told me I would have to call the main number to get a refund, despite the fact that nobody did my hair, because they had already charged me. I ended up going to the wedding without having my hair done. I also wasted 45 minutes driving to Dry Bar. This is the worst customer service I have experienced ever. Don’t ever go here if you don’t have at least an hour to wait. It was an awful experience and a complete waste of time.
Made an appointment for 9 in the morning for my sister and I and we showed up at 8:55 but there were no stylists there yet. So we had to wait 10 minutes until one of the stylists came only to make my sister wait 30 minutes for the other stylist to come in. I tipped my stylist $10 as I truly thought she did a good job washing and curling my hair but my hair was completely straight after about 2 hours of excessive hairspraying. When the 2nd stylist, finally came in, she did my sisters hair nicely and her curls are still in today but we only tipped her $7 because she didn’t wash my sister’s hair, the person at the front desk, Jaylen, did, and Jaylen had the nerve to add $3 extra to tip himself on the bill after we left after I told him not to add tip to the bill. The appointment was only supposed to take 35 minutes but ended up taking an hour so I really didn’t save any time getting my hair done at all. Don’t waste your time and money. I should’ve read the reviews before I came in. Truly disappointed.
We walked in soaking wet with no appointment, but everyone there was warm and welcoming and let us dry our shoes, socks, jackets, clothes, etc while we got our hair done. Everything is very organized, very pretty, and clean, there were little cookies on the table, very fancy. The hairstyles were AMAZING!! I had a great overall experience and would love to come again!!
I had a great experience at the Drybar Harvard Square! I made an appointment online for Saturday at 10am and I arrived about 10 mins before. They took me right away which was great. I did some research online prior to the appointment so I basically knew what I wanted. I showed the stylist photos and right away she pulled out her phone and showed me photos of similar hair-dos she had done in the past. This made me feel very confident in her abilities. My hair came our amazing! I absolutely loved it. I got a cosmo-tini with added waterfall braid see photo included here. The stylist I saw was named Brooklyn and she absolutely nailed it. I can't wait to come back and see her again!
Stay away from this location! I have been to a few other DryBar locations in New York and Chicago, and always had a great experience. At the Harvard Square location, they were 30 minutes late for my appointment. I asked for the cosmopolitan loose curls and ended up with VERY tight curls and completely flat hair. Stay away, not worth your money!
When I arrived at my appointment, they did not bother to inform me that they were running over an hour behind. It's one thing to be running behind, but it's completely another not to communicate this to your clients. I ended up going to the wedding without having my hair done. But I would have saved myself so time if they had just communicated the facts right away, instead of leaving us in the waiting to room to figure it out.
Terrible experience and this is before I even got a blowout. Made an appointment and they don’t even have enough stylists here. Looks like there are about 2 stylists working and 7 people are waiting in the waiting area. Came 5 minutes early and 30 minutes later, I am still waiting for my turn. I just went to ask how much longer I would need to wait and I am told I need to wait another 30 minutes. Why bother have people make appointments if you know you’re understaffed and to have your customers wait an hour after the appointment time is unacceptable for a business and extremely disrespectful of your customers’ time.
I get blow outs often and normally love drybar. It was 2 months a go I had a horrific experience at this dry bar. I get my hair done before work, so I need to make sure I get the earliest appointment. I waited 20 minutes before the front desk even told me that my stylist was not there and she didn’t know when she would be there. Since I needed to be at work I at least wanted to put some dry shampoo in my hair, which I was forced to buy. In addition my newest shower cap from drybar had broke elastic snapped before I even got to to wear it. On the same visit I asked if I could exchange it for another one since it was unused. I did not have my receipt since I threw out the box and receipts before packing it on my last trip. With no receipt the front desk refused to let me exchange it even though it was clearly unworn and broken. She said she couldn’t find it on my dry bar account, so she wouldn’t be able to do anything. I will not go back to this drybar agian and I wouldnt buy a Shower cap agian.
