3 stars for the following reasons. We got there and we could seat ourselves. There were 4-5 employees that walked by us sitting down, all of them saying hello to us, which is great, but it was about 15 minutes until we were actually given a menu. After we did get our order taken, we expected the appetizers to come out somewhat soon to follow, but no. The appetizers we ordered came out at the same time as our meals - counterproductive. The food was a solid 6/10. Not the best but not horrible. Their “boneless wings” are just straight up chicken nuggets with seasoning and sauce… that’s not boneless wings to me. Everything else was fine but not exceptional. It’s an okay place to eat but it wouldn’t be my first recommendation. 3 stars instead of 2 because our waitress was very sweet and tried her best to be attentive & accommodating.
My wife and I stopped in at Duffer's Tavern for a late lunch. Our server was extremely friendly and did not rush us at all. We ordered the pork nachos, which were massive and loaded with pork. Very Good! The boom boom shrimp were hot and tasty. We sat inside, but will definitely take advantage of the patio when the weather cools off.
The food here is pretty reliable. Our waitress, Morgan, was on point and service was very quick NOT always the case at Duffers. My major gripe is that their prices seem to be a little over the top. For two adults and a child, our bill was around $85. We did have two drinks each, but for a neighborhood "pub grub" kind of place, it seems a bit steep. I guess you're paying for the convenience factor of not having to leave Treasure Lake. If the service wait time for food, specifically was more consistent, I wouldn't mind the price so much. We have waited over an hour for food on several occasions. I think this has recently improved, though.
Ignore the reviews from over 1 year ago. A new management team came in and cleaned up the restaurant and hired exceptional staff. The food is great. The people are flocking in. The place is fun. We often find it difficult to find a table. So, the news is that the NEW team has made Duffers a destination within the Treasure Lake community. We still haven’t had everything on the menu, but are working on it. It is becoming difficult to pick something we haven’t had, because we go back to menu items we have already enjoyed. When the weather permits, the patio is the desired place to sit. Good luck finding a patio table on golf team evenings. The staff and the local patrons make the place buzz. Worthy of a visit in-season and post-season. Definitely try the pizza or the Strombolis.
Well, I am visiting Dubois for work and it would be good to let people know that you just can't go there. The restaurant is within a gated community. I wanted to go take a quick look at the place but I was told by the lady at the gate I can't just do that. I had to turn around...
Went here on a recommendation with my 5 interns and it was pretty good. Food and service was solid. My only issue is access as it’s in a gated community and the gate guard acts like it’s his fiefdom. He got irate with us bc we missed stopping at his window and he had to get up and come outside.Food: 4/5
CRITIC'S CORNER Tonight was an exceptional night here at Treasure Lake. The much anticipated grand opening of DUFFERS RESTAURANT came at last. Patrons were lined up at the door waiting for the ok to come in. We were fortunate to be among the first to enter the newly remodeled building. Bo Lockwood and Omni Contractors worked many hard and long hours to have the New Duffers Restaurant ready for business on the anticipated date of May first. Many Omni workers gave up valuable family time to make sure everything was a go for opening day. The restuarant opened on MAY FIRST as anticipated. Being redesigned it added a lot of much needed seating space. Smiles filled the room from one end of the building to the other. Everyone was delighted with the classy way the establishment was laid out. It took a lot of planning sweat and I'm sure a few tears but the finished product was well worth the wait! A companion of ours was having a birthday and we surprised her with an icecream cake after our meals. We all enjoyed different delicacies from the menu such as, Beer Battered Fish..Baked Fish..Double Decker Reuben ... Tomato Mazzarella Flat Bread .. Whiskey Mushroom Steak Tips....Dozen Boneless Wings and Golden Dipped Sprouts served with a horseradish dipping sauce...and a Pretzel Basket. The presentations of all the dishes was first class. Everything was a delight to the eye as well as the pallet. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful place to meet family and friends. After all, living here in this beautiful bounty of nature we call home ..we now have something to be very proud of. It would be a mistake not to patronize this fine facility here in our own back yard. The meal prices, at Duffers, are very reasonable and can fit just about any budget and portions are generous. Congratulations to Bo Lockwood.. Proprietor for an outstanding accomplishment. And kudos to Omni Contractors for such devotion and loyalty to to complete this ominous task. I hope to see all of the residents of Treasure Lake enjoying an evening at Duffers. Tell them you read all about it from the Critic's Corner
We had been hearing great things since it changed hands, and it did not disappoint. This little pub has a great vibe. It's clean and tastefully decorated. The pizza was great and I have been craving those cheeseburger fries since our visit! The staff was terrific as well, it was obvious they enjoyed being there. My new favorite spot in that area.
Newly remodeled. Nice atmosphere. Still working out the kinks since the reopen. Food is really good!
Had a nice breakfast here a few weeks ago. Breakfast offerings were what you would expect. As pescatarians there were limited options. However, the food quality was good; the service was excellent; and being able to eat breakfast on the patio was a bonus. We will return.
