Great atmosphere especially before going to any event at the Xcel. There are some interesting food items on the menu, make sure you read them all. Great finds!
I enjoyed eating at Eagle Street Grille before a concert in the Excel Energy Center. We had looked for a place to eat beforehand and Eagle Street was one of the most affordable of the options that was close to our parking spot. It did not disappoint. The burgers were full of flavor and there were some innovative and tasty sounding options that made it difficult for us to order quickly. I ordered the Jimmy Long Legs and can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. The atmosphere was nice for the time we went Saturday around 4:30-5:20pm and they had a good playlist that was at a good volume. We especially enjoyed when they started playing music from the artists we were about to see across the street. I don't typically frequent downtown St Paul but thanks to Eagle Street Grille, I might have to start. It is definitely a new favorite restaurant.
Don't listen to the naysayers here! Arrived at 11:15am prior to Disney on Ice show at 1pm at the Xcel, just a few patrons at this point. Only two servers and what looked like maybe two in the kitchen and as the morning progressed, so did the crowd & man was this staff hustling! Our Server, Rob, was calm, cool, and collected as he served many tables with a smile! He also made a great gin & tonic seeing as the Disney goers the day/night before drank em out of Bloody Mary mix! Anyway, the food was delicious and the corner table by the window made for some great people watching! Enjoy! Kid-friendliness: We were here when the Xcel was hosting Disney on Ice and there were a lot of Kiddie Cocktails being served!
Food was incredible, service was awesome even with the place pretty full. Only one tiny thing, the tables are very sticky. Not dirty NY any means, I think the cleaner they use makes the varnish tacky. Regardless, great experience!Food: 5/5
Went for my first time before a Wild game and it was a loud environment but I loved it the staff was a little behind but our waiter came up and apologized right away and after that he was prompt and very nice. The food was amazing and normal price. Will definitely be visiting again on the next game I go to.Food: 5/5
For two years now our 100 person choral group has called 3 weeks in advance to give a heads up to this restaurant that at least 50 people were coming in not renting, just walk in on a sunday night. For two years they have had one person working the majority of the floor + bar back and one chef. This year former staff who happened to be sitting at the bar had to help out. No space issue, but if this is how Management treats staff when plenty of heads up is given, it makes it hard to be a place I want to go as a former service person, given any other option. Staff are great, food is good, space is nice but what the hell on communication and proper staffing.
Great place near the xcel. Busy on game night. Appetizers are huge! Cheese curds are good. Beef tips are on point. The nachos feeds 3 people easily. The do have an assortment of adult beverages as well. Should you still be hungry the spicy turkey burger was excellent. Food is salty and savory so drink a few glasses of water to wash down this pre game feast.
I have eaten here before and enjoyed my experience so came back. Was unfortunately VERY disappointed. The waiter brought drinks 20 minutes after we ordered, some drinks were wrong,.food was not what we ordered, overall just really disappointing.
We ordered 2 Elliott Burgers. We asked for 1 to be medium rare. Both burgers patties were well done, extremely dry, and the patty was small. Fries were soggy and cold. We also ordered chicken wings $14 for 8 small wings ouch. Very overpriced and not worth it.
***Note***To be fair this was before a Wild game. The food was ok. Nothing special. I will never order another Manhattan there. For the price it was ridiculous and poorly made. Zero flavor. Service was spotty at best.Food: 2/5
