About

Convenient Safe Affordable Parking for Downtown Anchorage

Story

The predecessor of ACDA, the Anchorage Parking Authority, was originally created as the first separate public authority on February 28, 1984. That authority was established "to create an environment in the Anchorage area such that parking and parking policies are in a position to influence the community as a whole."

In 2004, the Municipality of Anchorage considered creating a development authority that could aid in developing public lands. On January 18, 2005, the assembly passed an amendment to the original APA ordinance which renamed the authority to Anchorage Community Development Authority with two departments: Development Services & Parking Services.

The parking attendants are extremely rude and unhelpful, and the online payment system never works correctly. They seem to be on a mission to extract as much money from the downtown community as possible, rather than manage an organized, useful parking system. One of the worst downtown organizations period.
We went in on the 4th ave entrance. Used our debit card and no ticket came out. When we tried to leave, had to pay $30 for lost ticket. We were only there from 3ish-6pm. Nobody manning the garage so we got screwed.
The views from the roof are quite quiet. 97 steps in the stairwell too, great cardio,
I received a parking ticket in the mail for a vehicle I don’t own and a license plate that is not mine. Easy Park needs to connect their records with DMV so they are updated and accurate. This is the computer age and there’s no excuse for this type of easily corrected error.
Hard to rate a parking meter. The one I parked at worked. And I beat the clock and got back in time to not get ticketed . Nothin to report really.
Last week I got to my car to find I had a flat tire. I called the EasyPark helpline and two very helpful fellows filled my tire and made sure I was good to go. I cannot tell you how invaluable that service is that EasyPark provides and especially now that the weather ha turned cold!!
