We have been at ECHO CANYON STATE PARK for 12 days. We will spend two more nights for our enjoyable 14-day stay here.
There are two campgrounds associated with this state park. We are in the upper campground where there are full RV hook ups with 30/50 amp service at about 20 sites. Each of those RV sites has a fire ring and a covered picnic table. Most are pull-throughs.
We were at site 3 for our first week. Many of the RV sites are at a slight slope which made it a bit difficult to get completely leveled.
However, my favorite site is 3a which is where we are now. It is one of the few sites in this campground that does not have any hook ups. We are in essence Boondocking within the state park! The very nice park ranger told us that these four sites on the edge without utilities are generally reserved for groups such as scouts, families, etc.
This site does have a picnic table and fire ring. But the reason I like this site so much is it is on the edge of the park overlooking the reservoir. Beautiful views! In one direction is the small reservoir lake with fishing and in another direction is a beautiful green meadow.
Our first weekend here was my birthday and Mother’s Day and my three daughters and four grandchildren were here. So, we took up these three sites as well as the RV site. It was wonderful!
Another thing I absolutely love about ECHO CANYON STATE PARK is its location which is far enough off the road that you hear no road noise. Therefore, it is incredibly quiet. Nighttime sleep is so wonderful with such quietness.
This campground is well tended and very clean. Park Rangers ride through daily. They have been very pleasant.
We will return to ECHO CANYON STATE PARK in the future.

Two campgrounds. On the hill overlooking the reservoir is a new full hookup campground, but the wind about blew us off the hilltop. Above the boat launch area is a beautiful campground but without hookups. Water turned off in the winter.

Nice little park well suited for a weekend getaway or extended stay. Has both dry camping and full hookups. Echo Dam Reservoir offers good bass fishing from the shore as well as on the water, small boats only, albeit somewhat tricky to launch your boat.

Good campgrounds and good fishing, but I wish they would keep more water in lake
