About Mr John's School of Cosmetology is recognized for playing a leading role in the cosmetology profession. Our tradition and commitment is to offer students a welcoming atmosphere, a challenging curriculum, and the tools to build a successful career. Story Mr. John's schools trace their history to the early 1930s. At that time, the Decatur School of Beauty Culture and the Champaign School of Beauty Culture were opened by early pioneers in the field of cosmetology education. In 1967, the Decatur school was purchased and renamed "Mr. John's. In 1998, Mr. John's expanded into West Central Illinois with the purchase of the Jacksonville site. Mr. John's believes attention to individual needs encourages the finest teaching environment. Our 40-year tradition and commitment is to offer students a welcoming atmosphere, a challenging curriculum, and the tools to build a successful career as a stylist, teacher, salon manager or owner. Many scholarship and financial aid programs are available. We have counselors who will assist each student in working out an individualized program. The U.S. Department of Education approves students who qualify for grants and loans for attendance at Mr. John's. The school is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS).
