About Chef Tracy O'Grady's newest restaurant Campono serves Neapolitan-style pizzas, hot subs, fresh salads, homemade gelato, pastries and a full coffee bar. Story Campono opened on March 28, 2014 in the 600 Watergate Building across from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Campono focuses on casual Italian cuisine. The restaurant is based upon a fast casual concept, specializing in wood burning oven pizzas, house made gelato, salads, breakfast pastries and pizza. Campono’s hand rolled pizzas are cooked in a wood fired oven at over 800 degrees using a traditional natural yeast and flour dough or whole wheat dough. Gluten-free pizzas are available. Draft beers and a nice selection of wines, by the glass or the bottle, will round out your dining experience.
