"The Barbecue Inn opened in 1946, founded by Louis and Nell Skrehot at its original location, 116 W. Crosstimbers. Their sons, Louis and Wayne, took over the restaurant after serving in the Army, forming a partnership lasting over 50 years. Incorporating what their father taught them with an entrepreneurial spirit, hard work and determination they created what would become a Houston icon. Providing the best in barbecue, fried comfort food , seafood and steaks Barbecue Inn has serviced its customers for decades. Americana, coupled with great customer service, quality and consistency has contributed to Barbecue Inn achieving National status as a comfort food leader in the restaurant industry. The family still runs the restaurant today!"
