About Lakeside Animal Hospital cares for a variety of small animals ranging from dogs and cats, to exotics and avian with state-of-the art equipment. Story Lakeside Animal Hospital was built by Dr. James Hruska in 1958. Dr. J. Augustus Brooks, who has worked here since 1991, took over the hospital in the early 2000's. Dr. Stephanie Rezler-Goodman has been an associate at the practice since May 1998. Dr. Melissa Schultz is also part of the staff on part-time basis. The hospital is a small animal practice that specializes in exotics of all types (Dr. Brooks). We are open seven days a week.
