"The Peninsula Optimist Club in the St. Johns community of Portland, Oregon, celebrated it's 75th Anniversary in 2021. It has provided scholarships for students at Roosevelt High School who will attend a community college or vocational school after graduation.The scholarships are made possible by the Christmas tree sales held every year in the Memorial Christmas Tree Lot at the corner of N. Lombard and N. Chautauqua Blvd, it opens every year the day after Thanksgiving and is open until Christmas. Additional funds are raised through Fourth of July fireworks sales.In addition to scholarships, the Optimists also donate money to support many youth organizations click on donor-recipient tab above and more to come after this year's sale"
