About Founded in 1866, The Floating Hospital provides primary medical, dental, mental health and health education services to all, regardless of financial, insurance or legal status. Mission In 1866 we were launched as New York City’s first charity pediatric clinic on a ship docked in lower Manhattan, and we’ve had the privilege of providing a healthier and more hopeful future to over 5 million New Yorkers. Today, as a Federally Qualified Health Center, The Floating Hospital continues its historic legacy as “Family Doctor to New York City Families in Need.”
