About Journey Photo Academy is Washington DC's and Northern Virginia Premier Photography School. We offer photography classes in DC and Northern Virginia as well as infield trips, photographer meetups and networking from within classes, and one on one tutoring Mission Many photography schools teach using unstructured, informal, disjointed, and in-field crash course style training. This training style is often reactively driven by student questions. This approach usually only provides a student with a vague familiarity of key concepts and does not meet the required pillars for true mastery Our courses refuse to take this approach, and instead use a proven curriculum developed around the pillars of learning. Our team provides a comprehensive deep dive into each of the critical aspects of photography, ensuring mastery of each fundamental topic. Our courses use a combination of formal classroom lessons, instructor supervised practice, in-field practice, weekly homework assignments, and post graduation continued learning to develop and hone each individual's skill set.
