About New York City ophthalmologist, Dr. Edwin Schottenstein, specializes in cataract surgery and treatment, glaucoma screening and general eye care. Story Dr. Schottenstein graduated from Stanford University and the Medical College of Ohio, receiving residency training in ophthalmology at Hahnemann University. He also studied as a glaucoma subspecialist by completing his fellowship training at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is one of New York's top Board Certified ophthalmologist and is accepted as a Diplomat by the prestigious American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Schottenstein has also obtained the American Board of Ophthalmology Maintenance of Certification (MOC). He is a respected Fellow of the American College of Surgeons which is a designation given to an accomplished surgeon. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor and Attending Ophthalmologist at New York University School of Medicine. He is also an Attending Surgeon at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where he is part of their highly respected glaucoma and trauma services. Dr. Schottenstein's private practice focuses on comprehensive ophthalmology, cataract surgery and glaucoma. He has been in private practice in Manhattan since 1985. He has written numerous articles for medical journals and chapters for textbooks about both comprehensive ophthalmology and glaucoma.
