About We feature functional Japanese and Medieval swords, a large selection of knives, and many collector’s items. Story We have Karate, Kung Fu, Kendo, and Tae Kwon Do training equipment and safety gear. We carry a wide variety of martial arts products and literature. Our selection of martial arts equipment is among the largest in the United States. We sell extra large size uniforms (to size 12). Please feel free to browse our website. Mr. Winningham is a 6th Degree Black Belt and holder of the Oyata family scroll. This scroll is the highest honor in the Ryute Organization. It was bestowed on Ted by “Taika” Seiyu Oyata, who founded the International Ryute Organization. Mr. Oyata has been Ted’s instructor, mentor, and advisor since 1980. Ted, his wife Joyce, and his daughter, Mechelle, opened Oddessy in late 1988, Their Granddaughters Erica, Brooke, and Whisper are also valued employees of the store. Their commitment to quality and customer appreciation has ensured their success. The company, with this commitment, has experienced steady and constant growth, which continues to this very day.
