About www.pdx.edu/recreation Campus Rec creates an environment where quality recreation and wellness programs inspire, educate and empower. Story Portland State has a significant new commitment to student engagement and retention with the opening of a new student recreation center in January, 2010. Home to Campus Recreation, the new Center is located in the heart of campus in the Urban Plaza and provide students and the campus community significantly expanded opportunities for exercise and campus engagement. Funded by student-fees, the Center falls under the auspices of Student Affairs and is being intentionally programmed to link recreation to student learning. Mission Campus Rec provides an inclusive environment where recreation and wellness opportunities inspire, empower and educate people to be positive contributors to the global community.
