About We offer classes for all ages, educational preschool, after school care for grades k-5, league sports, drop-in programs, and facility rentals! Story Portland Parks & Recreation www.facebook.com/portlandparks Impressum HISTORY We have proudly served the citizens of North Portland for over 50 years! The facility began life as a military recreation complex on the Willamette River and was used by ship workers during World War II. After the war, the building was purchased by the city for one million dollars. In 1948 it was moved, via flatbed truck to its present location. The facility was completely remodeled in 1998 and is 100% ADA wheelchair accessible.
