About Tread Softly, Travel Lightly Story Hellbender strives to make the finest craft beer from the best ingredients. Before founding Hellbender, Ben apprenticed at several microbreweries and was an avid homebrewer for more than 12 years. Co-founder Patrick Mullane, a former Congressional staffer, focuses on business and marketing activities. He was also an avid homebrewer. Mission To provide the thirsty citizens of the District of Columbia and Washington metro area with great craft beer, and to use only the best and freshest domestic ingredients. Products Flagships: Kölsch, IPA, Red Ale Seasonals: Pumpkin ale, Nut Brown, Saison, Hefeweizen Barrel Series: Rest assured that the barrel series will kick off immediately, but these beers take time, so look for these releases after the first year of production! Occasional Rarities: Ben's love of beer grew along with his love of science. At some point his love of beer won, but the passion for experimentation never died. Look for special limited releases throughout the year!
