About JEA Senior Living is a national network of care centers specializing in assisted & independent living & skilled nursing - primary focus being Alzheimer's. Story The Glen Oaks Alzheimer's Special Care Center community was opened in December 2012, and is located in beautiful Urbandale, a suburb of the capital city of Des Moines, the largest city in Iowa. Although Urbandale is of moderate size, the area hosts almost 900 acres of public parks. Glen Oaks Alzheimer's Special Care Center is designed to perfection in order to embrace each resident's life experiences, offering an approach that incorporates the individual story into the whole care program. The center offers around-the-clock care and supervision, private and companion accommodations, three quality, gourmet meals every day (as well as snacks and special guest meals!), and a vast array of activities. Whether on a field trip, exercising, attending a class, enjoying pet visits, socializing or participating in weekly church services, residents at Glen Oaks are always doing something!
