Einstein Bros. Bagels

Granted it was lunch rush..but they screwed up my bagel and cream cheese order. And once they gave it to me, it was slapped together with hardly enough cream cheese for one side. I love Einstein's bagel taste and I love their cream cheese...but considering the expensive price and after this experience I'm going to Starbucks for my Bagels

This is the third Einstein's I've been to in Portland that has introduced Smearfuls (little bagel balls with cheese inside) but has no idea how to make them or keep them. The lack of training is perfectly lined up with everything I have had at an Einstein's from other locations around the country. The staff at most Einstein's are generally similar to the staff you might encounter at an indoor shopping mall food court, except these locations stand alone. I feel bad for the staff at this particular joint because they seem nice but clearly haven't been given enough motivation and training for the prices that the franchise charges. I hope that Einstein's either charges more appropriately to the costs of the products they offer or training and pay their people better in order to provide a decent experience. God how I wish there was a Kenny and Zukes in SW downtown so that I could get a decent bagel.

Soggy and flavorless tomatoes. Ruins the whole sandwich. It's late August. You'd think they could have some decent tomatoes.
