Good Mexican spot to go and grab lunch/dinner! They have a variety of appetizers to share and drinks too. Plus the entree plates were good and we all had a good time!Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
If you are looking for traditional Mexican cuisine with a matching atmosphere. Look no further. What more can you ask for, when there is even a mariachi band playing while you eat. The staff was always friendly and made sure your dining experience was enjoyable. The food was excellent; I plan to return soon.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
We wanted a nice place for drinks and appetizers. We found it at el coyote. We enjoyed the jumbo drinks. We ordered 4 different appetizers. The drinks gave us a buzz. The food was delicious. Can't wait to visit their forest hills location.
Nice!!! Place to go eat and have some drinks Happy hour ends too early only bad thing they have
I've been to El Coyote many times before. It's a good size restaurant with seating in and out. A staple in Jackson Heights, I've enjoyed their churrasco , cochinita pibil, enchiladas, guacamole and defininitely the mojitos. I also love the music usually salsa and on Fridays mariachis. Their staff is courteous but not as attentive as one would like ,one would be me. My hubby loves this place because of the churrasco so,naturally this is where he wanted to go for his birthday. He ordered his churrasco with ripe plantains and to be different I don't know why, I ordered the mariscada mixed seafood in a green sauce with rice and beans and an agua de tamarindo tamarind juice because I couldn't drink on antibiotics don't ask why . Anywho, I thought the mixed seafood dish would be grilled and accompanied by a sauce. There was no description of the dish besides the list of the type of seafood being served. I was looking forward to it until I saw what arrived. It was a seafood soup. Not sauce. Soup.Nowhere in the menu did it say soup. I dont like ordering soup on a regular day let alone during a heatwave in NY. Nevertheless, I gave it a shot. As I was sweating like I was on a threadmill eating this soup, I couldn't help but want the meat my hubby was devouring. Unfortunately the seafood was not fresh and very fishy. Perhaps if I would've been enjoying a few mojitos I wouldn't have cared. Thank goodness my hubby fed me some of his delicious churrasco, always well seasoned, tender and juicy. I also enjoyed their fresh guacamole and chips. No seafood for me at El Coyote but will definitely be back for some coconut mojito and some churrasco. Vegetarian options: Vegetarians tacos, seafood, guacamole
Been here about a half dozen times. With either friends or dates. Food, drink, and service are always good. Bar service is great. There's room for a party towards the back. The prices are great. Don't have to cringe when the bill comes
Placed an order with the waiter to go. I asked for the sampler but the waiter forgot to place it. I wasn’t charged but I need the food so I placed the order over the phone to pick up. Person on the phone said their delivery person is out so it’s a 45min wait but pickup is 20. I arrive to pick up the food and the order still wasn’t placed. So much confusion, took a third person to place the order. They need a better system. So frustrating.
Came here in Halloween after trick or treating with my son. Food was average and lacked in flavor, I’ve had much better tacos at the trucks. Service was really slow but decent. I didn’t order any cocktails but they looked amazing and many other patrons were ordering them. I would not return, once was enough.
Outdoor dining was open so we decided to sit outside. The server forgot about us and I had to flag down her colleague after 15 minutes. We ordered alcoholic beverages which we tasty and made to order. No complaints. The menu did not have the pricing for the different sizes of the alcoholic beverage so it caused confusion during ordering our drinks. We ordered the Ceviche, Guacamole and Quesadilla with Steak. The Ceviche was rubbery like and wasn’t tasty and served with Ritz crackers which was odd. The Guacamole was decent, needed a bit of salt and lime for perfection. The chips tasted old and not fresh. The quesadilla was greasy. The 3 stars is merited because the food quality was not great but the drinks were good. The decor was pretty inside and out but the service lagged a bit despite being what it appeared a slow night. I recommend eating elsewhere and having drinks here.
