First time for me eating from here today 10/23/22 my wife was definitely right there food is really good we got alot 3 yellow rice and beans white rice and beans 3 chickens baked salad pork all of it was banging!! The only thing we had our neighbor call and Oder they speak Spanish but not a problem delivery was fast especially for a Sunday and playoffs Phillies game on too …can’t wait to order again man !!!
Food is good but a little on the salty side. If your placing an order over the phone, staff will put you on hold for a while before actually talking the order. The pork was delicious and pulled right apart but it was on the salty side. The yellow rice and the beans were delicious. Chicken was also good and came right off the bone and potato salad has good flavor. I also enjoyed the tostones with the garlic sauce, even though the garlic is very very overpowering. The mangu was also delicious and fresh, as they had just finished making it.
The food used to be good but as of late it's been to salty. More than likely I won't be visiting this place for a long time if at all.
Can’t go wrong with El Principe’s food. Been eating here since I was a little boy, it’s a Philly staple. A lot of options to choose from and always fresh since they are so busy the food on the steam table is always being replaced. I’ve noticed prices did go up for their food but that’s because of inflation can expect to pay $7 for a platter anymore, it’s 2022.

I order from here all the time for the past six years, but lately service has been going downhill. I don't speak Spanish I always am able to get someone that speaks English but for the past week all of a sudden no one in the restaurant speaks English and she keeps telling me no even when I tell her I don't speak Spanish. I have never had a problem ordering food from them until recently.
I always come here as soon as I touch down in Philly! Hasn’t disappointed me yet! Eating food from here as I’m typing this!!
I think it was around 9pm-ish,or closer to ten p.m..,there wasn't a line,they were cleaning, the food was nice and hot,even by the time we walked back to the house C St. & Indiana ave.-$30…00 for three platters & there was no salad which we did ask for.,no drinks.. I could see 7,8bucks for each platter and not ten. I guess it was worth it bc we're on foot, while it was snowing...I recommend this spot. The food A+ tres leche cake was even pop pop pop POPPING!! Ate that in the store and on my way out of the store,bumping into an old friend of mine who I gave my last few bites of, he was so happy..he's blind and his senses are I, he could smell the cake-so I gave him the rest. That's how Good the food is, it made a blind man snap!! Lord have mercy on that one.. lolololololol.
The good here is good and got a good taste to it the service is slow though there no parking do you have to take your chance with double parking or parking at the gas station across the street
