I went here to introduce my friend to Colombian food and we were both very impressed. Delicious and freshly made empanadas. Our bandeja dish was very filling. Prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly and the space was small and intimate with nice decorations. I am absolutely coming back here if I crave Colombian food in Bridgeport.
Today we visited El Pueblito to celebrate my 28th Birthday. We have been coming to El Pueblito for years for their fantastic Columbian food. This evening I had my wife, parents, and grandfather with me. We started with a few appetizers including some empenadas and tostones. The empenadas were nice and crisp and the tostones come with this very flavorful salsa. For an entree I ordered the El Bandejo del Pueblito which is basically a "one of everything" meat dish which comes with steak, chicken, sausage, and pork. Each entree came with rice and beans. My wife loved her chicken tacos and everyone else at our table enjoyed their food and said they'd return with us next year. The only issues I have with this location is that the servers do not speak much English and sometimes it's hard to communicate with them - and there always seems to be a fruit fly flying around the table. However, the friendliness of the staff and quality of the food overshadow these minor inconveniences. I would recommend anyone looking for a classic Columbian dish visit El Pueblito Restaurant.
I am sitting in here right now and couldn't wait to review this place because....its my new favorite restaurant. It's family run and everything is made fresh. You might wait a little bit for it and it's worth it. So delicious. The maduros/ plantains are awesome. I got the breaded pork loin, rice, beans but my absolute favorite was the home made hot sauce/ chili sauce. So amazing. Spicy with a sweet taste. Don't miss out on this spot if in the area.
Just enjoyed a fabulous dinner here. My first time, came with a friend who comes often. Enjoyed my cheese empanada, and for my dinner had the grilled pork with rice and beans. The pork was excellent and the portion so big - I got three pork chops and took 2 home. Highly recommend and glad that downtown has such a great spot. Friendly, fast service as well.
It is a beautiful place. Foods are delicious and employees are good person.
It's been a while since I've been here but I'm happy to report the food is consistently good. We had tostones with Creole sauce. The first time I've had this sauce here. It was really good. The plantains and beans are outstanding. I had a steak and my co-worker had chicken. We loved both. If you are staying at the Holiday Inn and you don't eat here you are making a mistake. Most of the food on the menu is Columbian but there are sparks of other So American cuisines like Peruvian lomo saltado which I've had before and it is done properly here.
First, the place is very clean and the service was excellent. Lunch on a weekend. - I see they have lunch specials during weekdays and there are daily soups such as tripe, oxtail, etc. There is traditional Colombian fare tostones, bandeja, arepas and a few other "South American" dishes such as empanadas and lomo saltado. Our food was all good. I'd say the Colombian plates were slightly better than the Peruvian today. Meats were good quality. Fried foods were not too greasy. Restating that the servers were super friendly and efficient. Will be back next week - haha.
Food was excellent. We had the sancocho de gallina hen soup and also the beef chaufa rice. Empanadas were a great appetizer choice. Rodrigo was our server who was excellent.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
I went for a day trip to Bridgeport. I stopped by this Columbia restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service was perfect.
Not coming here again the place was dirty and had roaches all over the floor. I was waiting for an appetizer 1 buñuelo and empanada and that took 20 minutes to come out and while i was waiting i had counted 5 roaches on the floor. I’m not one to write reviews but i was disgusted by this and want everyone to know before they try to come and eat here.
