Established in 1976, El Unico Restaurant & Cafeteria is a community staple in Hudson County and Union City's local Latin Community for over 35 years. After selling his business in 1992, Juanito Montes de Oca, the founder of this establishment, and his daughter Maria Elena have returned to restore this renowned neighborhood gem back to its former glory. Serving today's best Cuban food at incomparable 1976 prices! Visit us and enjoy some of the best Cuban food north of Key West!

Maria the owner is amazing. Always polite, and making sure her customers are well taken care of when they order there food
Delicious food at very low prices. Most dishes are $5 and can feed me for 2 or 3 meals light eater. I specially love their ropa vieja and chicken leg with fries, both are available on a daily basis. The cortado for $1.25 is also very delicious, I like it much more than regular lattes.

Hidden gem of Hudson County! Not only is the food amazing but the restaurant is extremely clean and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you're in the mood for some great Cuban food!! Lastly, the owner treats you very well almost as if you're family! Will definitely return
