My first experience here wasn’t great but I decided to give it another try. I’ve been coming ever since. My favorite place for pho in this area. I love their drinks and smoothies! The Castaway is my favorite and Summer of ‘69 is good too, you can taste it’s made from fresh mangoes. I recommend their Pho Bo Em. Their broth is different from the places nearby, and makes me feel so warm inside. I’ve tried their chicken pho, wouldn’t try again, I just prefer the beef broth more. Their braised pork ribs were good too, meat was tender and juicy. I DEFINITELY recommend their chicken wings, I loved the sauce and it was fried perfectly. Spring and summer rolls are alright here, I prefer another place’s. Overall, a great place for viet food. They should have more seats though!
EM is a special place bc their pho is served in such cute decorative bowls. The flavor of the soup broth is simple yet makes u feel warmth. Doesnt need much else. A home vibe. Ingredients were fresh. Chicken wing flavors were 10! So good, a little vinegary tangy but so flavorful. A hint of fish sauce, not to scare you away bc it was the good kind. Their posters about their smoothies being good is NOT a lie. We got strawberry field and green dreamavocado and condense milk. I was suxh a fan of the avocado. AMAZING. 10
This place has decent pho but the banh mi is really good. The pork belly dish was also really good. It's definitely not cheap though. Edit: Pork ribs and wings are very good!
We were appealed by a recommended post on Facebook foodie group about Em Vietnamese Kitchen and the author said it’s the best pho he has ever had in NYC. The decor is humble, clean but really tiny with limited seating of 4 tables, but the wait wasn’t too bad, about 20 mins for 2. The staff was cool but served everything super quickly. We ordered their Pineapple Express, Gai Cuan which is summer rolls and Pho Bo Em with extra Short Rub +$8 from their limited menu. The drink and food were amazingly delicious especially the smoothies, which was refreshing with strong pineapple flavor. The broth of pho was also really tasty and it was braised with great ingredients. There is another location of Em in Dumbo, but the food they serve & the price are different and we prefer this one much better even though it’s a bit far for us.
I came here mainly because of the positive reviews and the real beef /beef bones broth I read. The price over here in general is higher than other Vietnamese restaurants around the area. It's ok if the food was great. I have had pho at other places with way too much MSG. thought this place would be better but I still feel thirsty after the pho. The pho portion is smaller than in other Vietnamese restaurants I had tried, with less meat, and the noodle texture is just alright/mediocre. I had higher expectations so then got a little disappointed. The spring roll was good and fine. I got 2 sandwiches to go and they were fine. The best thing is the watermelon drink. It has a strong fruity flavor. I would go back to try the pork sandwiches and other smoothies. Service here was alright, I wasn't greeted quickly when the waitress saw me so I wasn't sure if I should wait or just grab any seat myself. There were more tables that could fit more guests but they didn't let them sit so they ended up leaving. Maybe they didn't want the place to be overcrowded. Anyhow, we tipped the young lady waitress 25% although didn't think the service deserves it.
Ordered multiple times from here- specifically for banh mi . Had Pho as well but the sustenance to broth ratio was imbalanced. Overall it was tasty but prefer the portion to be more reasonable.Dine in: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
We have been here twice and i love this place. Pho was so delicious and chicken wings the best. Definitely have to try this place.
The food there is good. I usually would get their banh mi or their pork belly over rice thit kao tieu. Only their drinks I think it’s a bit pricey for what it’s worth. This place is small and has a few seatings. No reservations needed and they accept card payment. It’s cheaper to order on the phone than it is online.
