A client wanted to go shopping and insisted on going into this shop. All I can say is do not waste your time. The old blonde women who owns the business is very rude, don't even bother shopping at such an unpleasantly run establishment. She missed out on a $20,000 sale because she has such a sassy attitude. But what can you expect from new money with no manners. These types always feel comfortable with an old black person toiling away cleaning, must make her feel like a big person. Paula Dean said something about wanted old blacks working for her, etc etc, however the comment was bigoted.
What a wonderful selection of beautiful antiques, jewelry and accessories! So many options and the staff were so helpful with my quest for knowledge on the various pieces that interested me. I go here every time I visit New Orleans as it seems they are often updating their inventory. I highly recommend this shop on Magazine Street!
A few years ago I bought online a huge empire period, ormulu & verde antico marble 'Oath of the Horatii' mantel clock from this shop. Their service was just fantastic. Very informative & honest answering all my mails faithfully which encouraged my decision to purchase. Great value for money. They crated the item and had it shipped all the way to Europe. I was astounded at the the museum quality of the piece when I unwrapped it and have enjoyed the purchase ever since. It was a wonderful experience to deal with these people. I can recommend them to any lover of antiques.
Walking on Magazine Street in New Orleans, I went to Empire Antiques to look around. The ladies who work there were so nice and helpful, they even helped me pick out a restaurant to go to for dinner! The furniture was beautiful and I saw many pieces I would like to own.
They say they open at 10 am but got there at 10:25 and rang bell. Young blonde lady gives me dirty look. The owner comes to door and says she's not ready to open yet. No way to run a business. Much less on a weekend
Beautiful antiques and super nice people !!!
