Empire Cake

This is a cute little cake and pastry shop in Chelsea. They have a nice selection here. They are known for their snack cakes which are essentially high-end Twinkies - cakes with a stuffing, dipped in chocolate. They also have a big selection of cupcakes and cookies. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. The cake tends to run on the drier side. The flavor sound fun but the taste isn’t fully developed. The desserts are cloyingly sweet and it’s tough to pick up on other flavors. The buttercream frosting is however quite delicious.

I came here to meet up with friends. They had already had the chocolate cups. I decided on the confetti cake and the pink snowball. I thought the confetti cake was a bit too sweet but I enjoyed the snowball. I will go back and try something else. My friend loves this place. The staff here are so professional, attentive, and service with a smile. You can't beat that. The presentations of the cakes are just breathtaking. I definitely want to sample some of their other selections. It is really hard to find good service since the pandemic started.

BEST CREAM CHEESE FROSTING & overall Red Velvet cupcake I've ever freaking had!!!!! I can't wait to try their other cupcakes, but I'll always order a Red Velvet when I come in. Super moist cake but doesn't fall apart after the first bite, and the cake doesn't taste too chocolatey and not too sweet. The cream cheese frosting is heavenly! I love how cream cheesey this tastes. It's buttery and not too sweet!

When planning for my friend’s farewell brunch party, I researched all the local NYC bakeries that could do a custom cake, and I am so thankful I decided to go with Empire Cake, because the entire experience, even from just going over all the specific decorations and details I was looking over, to paying for the cake, to picking up the cake on the day of the party, everything was so smooth, professional, and timely. I emailed Laney from Empire Cake multiple times back and forth, due to my OCD tendencies for perfection, I kept asking for more changes to the cake rough draft, and she was always so kind, timely, and prompt in responding and offering suggestions on how to best achieve my cake vision. I couldn’t have been any happier than when we finally saw the cake in person, it looked almost identical to the photo of the final cake design draft that was agreed upon before payment through Square. Cake flavor chosen: Coconut Cloud Cake size: 10” Rating: 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone in need for a delicious custom cake!

Empire cake is never a disappointment. The black and white cookies are so delicious and are a family favorite. Today we also got the rainbow cake and that was also amazing. The bakery had a hocus pocus themed cake that really showed off their decorating skills

Got some cakes and cookies to go. The chocolate bomb was a real bomb and super gooey and very rich in chocolate, the coconut flakes lemon cake was so moist, the cookies were so flaky and buttery, and the cookie sandwich was so soft and just a great munchies!

I love this bakery!!! I ordered a custom cake here for my birthday and it was a dream come true and made the event so special. I reached out online with some very random, unformed ideas and the bakers were able to help me land on the exact cake I envisioned. The price was VERY fair for what I got especially considering it’s NYC. Payment was easy and the cake was ready on-time the day of! I had previously reached out to a lot of Instagram bakers but I’m really glad I ultimately went with Empire Cake. I work across the street and my coworkers and I always grab team snacks and treats from the counter here. Everything tastes as good as it looks!

Absolutely Amazing desserts. They did such a great job with the Cocomelon themed cake, custom goodies and other delicious treats. It made my niece'sMs. Blessing second birthday complete.

Stopped by on Halloween before closing and they had run out to candies but were so generous let us chose from a cupcake or cookie. They could’ve just turned us down like other stores without candies but they were nice enough to find alternative. Both the cupcake and cookie were so delicious. Super moist cake and buttery frosting. The most generous bakery in the city, can’t wait to go back and try more of their pastries.

Oh my, the pumpkin snack cake was absolutely divine. Moist cake full of flavor complemented perfectly by the white chocolate coating and the cream cheese filling. I will definitely be back.
