I hesitate letting everyone know how much I love this park, because it’s my little “hike getaway” when I want a quick nature walk. I rarely have a visit where I don’t see some kind of nature. Usually a nice deer, some owls, and cool bugs. So definitely visit sometime, but don’t go when I do so I can still walk without crowds. :
Well presented nature center with interactive elements. Educational opportunities for all but the most knowledgeable naturalists. Lots of native flora and fauna along the miles of trails. Did I mention it is free? Children's programming and summer camp options available for a fee.
We've spent many day exploring this park and we love it here.
We come here with our 1 year old. She loves the owls and the fish and the wildlife viewing room. She also loves going in her stroller on the outdoor trails and falls asleep out there all the time. The staff are phenomenal, extremely friendly and helpful. We love Ernie Miller!!
Quiet place in January. Some of the trails are being worked on. Rolling Ridge trail is just outside the park if you want an extension.
This is the place of my childhood!! Seriously such a nice place and they've added a lot too. This is a great space to get into the wild without being completely isolated. Beautiful scenery too.
Compact park, but great trails with lots of improvements being made even now. Herd of deer, various birds, and some small fish were some of the interesting things we saw!
