Its Winter in Alaska and time for an annual Service of your Heating System and as it happens a minor repair. All you are looking for is a reputable company with reasonable charges that you can trust to carry out this work. We found Even Stevens HVAC in an online search and they seemed to offer reasonable hourly rates without charging travel time which others do to and from the job. They eagerly undertook to come out and service our boiler and to repair / replace the small plastic plate and nipple on the side of the boiler that takes water to a pump for it to be expelled. They also replaced a Nortec steam cylinder that needed to be replaced. The disappointment came when they left their bill charging $129.00 more for the steam cylinder than I could have purchased it for at retail on the web site and then $140.00 for the small 2" square plastic plate and nipple. I paid their bill and enclosed a letter advising that I was not happy with the charges and the fact that they left the property with the hose from the pump still leaking but whilst they cashed the check they chose not to respond to the letter. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT employ Even Stevens HVAC of Anchorage for your Service Needs
