Extended Stay America - Columbus - Sawmill Rd.

Stayed here for nearly 9 months. Loved the place. Clean, safe, and staff is very friendly. The ac and heat work very well. Full size refrigerator, stove and sink in the room. There's a Target right around the corner plus 3 other grocery stores and lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The staff does it's best to keep pot smokers out. Very nice compared to two other places I stayed while in town. My room had carpet which made it feel more like a small apartment. Only real complaints I have are that the TV was a bit small, and the light switch in the bathroom is unusually far away from the door frame. Neither are deal breakers. If I were to move back to town I would stay here again in a heartbeat. There's no elevator so if you need an accessible room make sure to call right before arriving and verify that a room is available.

Let's get to the point quickly...it is a 2star hotel and does not pretend to be anything but.....so, if pricing is your demand, you will be fine. If amenities and appearance is your demand, don't stay here! Staff day crew was very friendly and inviting when we passed by. Location for us was great but honestly in 5-10min you could stay at a slew of other hotels. We checked in late called in advance to insure this! And had to call from front desk house phone as no front desk person there after 11pm. BUT front door was open so truly anyone could walk in/out....so not sure this is truly secure. Nothing in the in-room kitchenette no plates,means, utensils or otherwise but you could request. No elevator so all luggage walked up to 3rd floor. No access to stairs from back parking lot...had to walk to front or side entrance and use room key to access but you cannot leave from these same doors...you must only leave thru front lobby.....so silly. Anyway, room finishing was very low end as expected...plastic bathroom fixtures and such....clean looking but not really "clean".... "Grab n go" breakfast haha was coffee/tea station with industrial packaged muffins and Quaker peanut bars. We paid $200 incl tax for 2 nights....so, about $84/ night plus tax. Other 3-4 star hotels were $122-132/night plus tax....so, $40-50/night less.... you decide but note it IS Definitely 2star! We chose price on this trip but I must say I am not sure I would choose price again if coming back into this area.

The staff is amazing and so welcoming. I stayed 4 days and got hot coffee every morning. My room looked recently remodeled. Everything was clean. I constantly seen people cleaning hallways and carpets. Would stay again!!Rooms: 5/5

My room was great. Clean and tidy. The staff is great. Whitney the manager helped me with my key. She was so nice and friendly. Reminded me of my granddaughter. So cute. Breakfast was good. Coffee was great. They gave me a welcome basket. 10/10 would stay again.Rooms: 5/5

I reserved room in the extended stay app. In the app it says to show the qr code at check in she never did any of that. She just kept asking me things that the qr code probably would have already answered. I asked her about the qr code and she said don't need it. I liked the water and popcorn given in the room. I didn't like that they only had oatmeal for breakfast food but I guess it's better than nothing. They need to offer more though like oat bars granola bars nutrigrain bars and fruit apples bananas oranges. I feel laundry should be free but cost seems pretty reasonable. They need a change machine in laundry room. Also do you really need to have key card for laundry room?

Keeping in mind it's a 2 star hotel, we found it to be clean enough. However, the smell that permeated through the whole hotel was nauseating. The first floor was the worst as we went down in search of vending machines. We could not use the latch on our door as it appears to have been previously broke and not fixed correctly so it no longer lined up. Our door was hard to pull and latch when leaving our room, so if you are not mindful, you could leave your room completely open while leaving. I also have been bitten on my back multiple times by what I can only assume were bed bugs. While I did not see any bed bugs, all the bites on my back would certainly indicate they were there. If you are looking for a cheaper hotel, find a different one, or find a way to spend a bit more money and stay somewhere else. The employees were nice.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Any issues the maintenance man was quick to resolve them. Rooms: Affordable.

This is one of the best hotels i’ve ever stayed at, very clean and well kept. The staff was lovely with assistance and the facility was up to par. very affordable as well. I was walking out and I had stumbled on a rock and fell down… the manager quickly jumped to her feet to come help me up and to get my bags that went flying!!! My family and I will definitely be coming back!! Thank you
