Story

FABRICations was opened in October of 1978 by Judy & Ed Morrow. While it did incur a name change along the way, it has remained the same great fabric & design store with the same two owners over all the years.

FABRICations offers free design services along with thousands of decorative home fabrics. Drapery, upholstery, bedding fabrics & all the trimmings to go along. Let FABRICations do everything for you, including the custom labor! Our custom workrooms can fabricate window treatments, bedding, pillows & much more. Looking for that perfect furniture piece? We have several furniture catalogs, so we can help you find it and design it with the perfect fabric. One of the best fabric and trim selections in Memphis. Friendly team to help with selections and regular fabric sales! They also have a limited stock of pillows and curtains ready for purchase featuring new/top fabrics.
Great selection of fabrics and knowledgeable associates. They handle everything you need for incredible custom tailored drapes-made locally. You pick the style and fabric, let them measure and install, for the drapes of your dreams!
High End Upholstery fabric. Many specialty swatch books for special order. There's always a little clearance shelf and they have great sale a couple of times a year. Professional, polite, formal environment.
After discovering Michael's not having fabric, I stopped here and found what I was looking for. I purchased some great quality fabric at a good deal half off to make pillows. Also, the staff was very helpful and the store was clean. They have a beautiful selection and I will visit again to buy more.
They had a wonderful fabric selection for custom drapes or upholstery. The staff was very helpful without hovering over me. Their organization of fabrics is very helpful. I wish the prices were a little lower but I haven't shopped for that kind of fabric and a long time so it might be Average.
The sheer amount of upholstery and drapery fabric is amazing. I can't say the staff was friendly or not as no one said anything to me in the three laps around the store. I went looking specifically for drapery notions. If the store carries them, I could not find them. They don't seem to carry thread either. There were some trims, yet there wasn't much of that either. Fabric? Wow. Their special order area is packed with sample books and larger fabric samples. They did have a selection of nicer drapery rods. The location is good. Easy on/off I-240. Just off Poplar a half block south on Yates couldn't be better location. Looks like if I need header tape, I will be off to a different shop for that. Just odd. If I need fabric, I will stop here first before going elsewhere.
The ladies at FABRICations were extremely nice and helpful. They had exactly what I was looking for and we struck up a great conversation about what I needed the fabric for. They even have a small play area that kept my 18 month old occupied while I got the finishing pieces for his Halloween costume. The ladies also made me promise to come back and show them the final product. Great store, great service. Now I want to learn how to actually sew so I can visit there more often.

Fabrications has many fabric options for any of your decorating needs whether it be a chair, a pillow or outdoor furniture. The staff is also very helpful and great at giving advice as far as what fabrics will do best for the type of project you have.
As an Interior Designer I would recommend this store for great looking fabrics and helpful assistance. I can all find what I am looking for here. All of the people are helpful and will answer your questions.
