It's a medium-sized establishment split into 2 things. A cafe and a play area. The cafe area is spacious and bright. The toys could use a little love. A little revamping. There is a sand type pit. A ball pit. Slide, trampoline, and a little back room with more domesticated toys like kitchens and such. It's $20 with a 2-hour limit. More than enough time to tire the tyke out. The ladies wear masks and take your temperature. All in if you don't expect to walk into a Fairytale or Island, you enjoy it because your kid is. I take my 18-month-old and stay close to her. She enjoys it as much as the older kids. As expected, the older kids are running rampant, and I do not expect them to stop or slow down in the middle of exactly what they are supposed to be doing.....playing. So stick close to babies 3 and younger. It goes upto 7 years old I believe. Don't quote me on that...but all else, you can.
Our girls loved their first time at Fairytale Island. From a parent’s standpoint - great and safe way to spend the day. Clean and safe place to just roam around. The best thing about it, baby proofed A bit pricey - $20 for 2 hours per child. Discount $17 for 3 or more children over the age of 3. The establishment has snacks, ice cream, cotton candy machine, kid friendly music, and overall very good lighting. There is a ball pit, slides, trampoline, obstacle course, sand pit, tables to eat, party room, and wall climbing, and pretend area with grocery shopping carts, taco stand, kitchen and all kinds of pretend fruit and baskets. Our girls did not want to leave! Effective way to spend their energy. Had a long nap, just what their parents needed
My kid loves this spot but unfortunately, they seem to not care AT ALL about COVID / safety / capacity / social-distancing protocols. Luckily my family and I are all vaccinated so I felt reasonably safe being there, but I would be loathe to recommend it for anyone in a high-risk category. When we were there, there was a birthday party of about 10 - 15 kids all wearing no masks between the ages of 3-8 it looked like, and the place was FULL. I made sure to sanitize my child's hands every few minutes. The toys and amenities are pretty clean and seem to be in good shape.
My 4 yr old son enjoyed it. He cooked and went food shopping. Lol there is room that he was getting food to cook. Then there is a wall for rock climbing. They have ice cream to purchase and a dining area. I was exhausted he wasn't of course. But we enjoyed it.
Only reason it gets a 2 and not a 1 is because the play structures are really cool and well built and my kids loved it. However; it’s a mad house, completely chaotic! They don’t limit the amount of kids allowed in at one time and it makes a very unsafe situation. Also, it’s very narrow so it’s impossible to keep an eye on 2 kids at once.
Clean place and friendly staff. By far the best play place I took my toddler too! I would definitely recommend this place for indoor play. Cathy the manager was very helpful when I lost my phone and I can’t thank her enough.
The worst ever, $20 for 2 hours one child and one adult accompanied free is alright and total reasonable. While they have chair and desk for adult to sit and want to charge $5 for each adult. Are they kidding? Give you business and need to pay to sit there while waiting ? You want adult accompany a kid because for kid safety. While other family member waiting and need to pay for it Come on. Make up your mind.
Edit: visited again during week between Christmas and New Years and the facility was practically unheated. Owner claimed heat had been on for 3 hours. The facility appears to rely only on split level A/C auxiliary heat which clearly was not sufficient to properly heat the play area. The back play room was completely unheated. Our children’s hands and feet were cold to the touch after only a short period. We patents lost feeing in our toes quite quickly. Owner initially refused to provide a refund but eventually relented. An OK indoor play land addition to the neighborhood. It is on the small side and as a result crowded and wanting for parent space. However, the attractions are a hit, especially the ball pit and rice sandbox. There is one employee supervising who sat and stared at her phone most of the time but not to the point where you feel you can take your eye of your children for more than a second as there is not one vantage from which you can see the entire play area. $18 per child unlimited for the day but no re-entry is on the high side. Compared to other options city-wide this would be closer to 3 stars but given the lack of better alternatives in Bay Ridge I’ve given 4 stars.
Cute and fun place to bring your child/children to play. The price is definitely reasonable, & $18 for one child, $15 each for 3 or more children for the whole day. It's a big space with a jungle climbing space, wall climbing, pretend play with food shopping, fake sand pit, swings, etc. The staff are friendly. The cafe prices are reasonable. They check each child's temperature before they can be checked in which gives parents a peace of mind that there will be no fever passing around.
Excellent for toddlers! Clean, fun, not too big, not too small. Great party space and fantastic staff. I'm beyond glad we had my son's third birthday here.
