Family Psychology of South Bend

We have been working with Sharon Bain throughout our son's preschool years. This past year, we've had the opportunity to attend her monthly discussions focused on Winning Your Child's Cooperation. Sharon is always very kind and understanding of every situation and has offered us many tools that have not only made parenting our active and sensitive children easier, but have also been useful in enhancing positive relationships with our children. These meetings have often served as gentle reminders to incorporate positive parenting approaches into the hectic morning routines or generally throughout the day when we find ourselves pushed to our breaking points. We are so grateful for everything she has done for our family.

Sharon Bain is a great resource for parents in the South Bend area. She has helped me understand positive parenting in a way that I could not have gotten simply from reading books. She has a kind, open demeanor and is focused on concrete problem-solving, while also helping parents keep in the mind the big picture, which is raising kind, cooperative, and resourceful children.

I have referred six families to Dr. Petersen and each one of them was as impressed as we have been. We have found Dr. Petersen to be wise, insightful, and effective in addressing and resolving issues. During a particularly challenging period in parenting he even gave me his cell phone number and consulted with me during an early morning crisis. Two of the families I referred have since sought marital counseling and both report feeling that it was a turning point in their relationships. He is a dedicated professional and committed to helping families and couples. We are fortunate to have a resource like him in South Bend.

Dr. Petersen and his associate provide high quality psychotherapy services for adults, couples and children in South Bend Indiana. I have known of their work for many years and know Dr. Petersen to be a very talented clinician who applies a rigorous Practice Based Evidence model to his clinical work, resulting in greatly increased effectiveness vs. many psychotherapists. Highly recommended.
