I have been going to eye doctors since I was 8 years old, and I say with sincerity and confidence as an almost 30-year-old that this office made me feel the best taken care of. Even before my actual appointment, Dominic hoping I got his name right helped walk me through my vision insurance benefits and how it impacted my appointment and the cost. Both him and Heather took very good care when it came to answering my questions and using my vision insurance benefits the way that I wanted to. I wear both glasses and contacts and sometimes actually all the time navigating the different prescriptions and appointments and how insurance covers them is always complicated. The staff didn't stop until they answered my questions though and at no point did they make me feel bad for the time it took to sort out like some previous providers have. Every single staff member that I interacted with, from my doctor to the folks on the phone, cared and made me feel welcome. This means so much to me personally because I have a lot of anxiety about going to the eye doctor! Thank you
I went to family vision Care for an eye exam. The staff is friendly and very helpful, Dr Zimmerman took the time to show me the pictures of my eyes and explain exactly what I was looking at. I never felt rushed or pressured into purchasing eyeglass frames or the choices of lenses that I picked
My first visit to Family Vision Care in Lakewood was enjoyable and the experience enlightening. The technician conducted a series of tests with high-tech equipment before I spoke to the doctor. The doctor, Ashley Zimmerman, then continued the diagnosis. Throughout the whole visit I felt welcomed, relaxed and in good hands. The diagnostic pictures showed high-definition pictures of the inside of my eye that Dr. Zimmerman patiently explained. Then we discussed any issues with my eyes and found that they were in good condition. I would recommend anyone to visit this group for their eye exams and treatments.
Caring, knowledgeable Staff and doctor. Explained testing results thoroughly and made sure I had no questions or concerns. Helped me make informed decisions. I would definitely recommend Family Vision Care for adults and children.

Staff is kind, on-time, and willing to sit and explain what they're doing. Dr Z herself is awesome, very gentle and patient. Good frame selection, quick turnaround on lense orders. Good warranty policy.
They will write your prescription for only a year so that you have to go back and pay more money for another appt - all of my contact prescriptions been using them since I was 12 have been good for 2 years from other clinics. My glasses rx was good for 2 yrs from them, but my contacts were not? Seems odd if they think I'm good on glasses but not contacts which I told them I wear every day, and like an obvious marketing tactic to wring money out of their patients. Also, despite going there one year ago for my first appointment with them, they told me my previous doctor was no longer there, and so I would have to come back in and pay for a "New Patient Appt" in order to get my contact rx refilled when I called them about it. This is billed as a more expensive appt, and again, just an attempt to make healthcare a business where they benefit more than their patient. Also, I used to work as Optometry Assistant, and so I have knowledge of what is needed of a normal check up for someone in their 20s. They were throwing all kinds of additional tests at me saying they were necessary, which would have added a lot to my bill had I not declined. Beware, only go here if you wanna blow some money and get manipulated.
Dr. Zimmerman and the exam experience was fine. But overall, I've had a frustrating experience. The front office lacks professionalism, is very unorganized and communication is nearly impossible. So far I'm 3.5 weeks, multiple unreturned phone calls, and 3 trips back to the office into waiting for a contacts order. You cannot reach the office by phone. The answering service is unable to provide information and messages left for the practice do not get returned. Dropping in seems to be the only way to get information which is ridiculous. I switched to this office because my previous provider is 30 minutes away. At this point, making the drive would have actually saved me a ton of time and effort.
This was the best experience I’ve ever had getting new glasses. Everyone was so nice! And so funny!! I was laughing the whole time. I had my adult kids with me to help pick out frames and it wasn’t going well. The girl that worked there Cam I believe was her name was very helpful and found the frames I ended up getting. She was very knowledgeable, helpful, and a true pleasure. She took her time and made me feel really good about my purchase. 10/10 highly recommend!!
Dr. Zimmerman and team and truly helpful! My eyes have been bothering me for years, mostly because of allergies. Dr. Zimmerman made a few recommendations that have helped immediately!
