Wanted to show this local spot a Lil love, suggested it to 2 people based on good reports I'd heard. Ordered a small mac n cheese to test out before I bought dinners to take home to the family. Well the menu said $3.50, but the cashier said $4.77. Confirmed with her that I was getting a small- then after a few more questions she finally told me that the 5 plastic portable menus that cover the counter had incorrect pricing on them... smh. OK whatever. I was generally underwhelmed by the mac n cheese, from the portion size (which must have cost any 4.50), to the flavor and lastly the noodle to pasta ratio was lacking to say the least. I didn't even bother ordering anything else, the pricing inconsistencies kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Besides what I had was below at best average. Idk- Maybe the other dishes are better. But I will say that the cashier was very friendly and polite.

Well worth the price. Gumbo was seasoned perfectly and the cornbread was some of the best I've had

The food was okay. I usually try new restaurants often. My first in a while and I was disappointed. The orange roughy was good. Other than that we purchased 3 dinners the sides were not good at all. The mac and cheese was greasy, the dressing was very salty we could not eat it and had two orders of it and the red beans...yeah. The turkey chops were dry and the batter was not crisp. I tend to stray away from soul food restaurants because they are hit or miss.
