I use to go every Monday night until Covid hit does anyone know if they’re closed permanently? If so any recommendations? Hope you are! Great atmosphere, super friendly remembered you never rushed and super clean! Roomy with the 3 rooms I miss it!
Wondering the same thing as Meghan. I get the sense that they are not advertising to new clients right now, hopefully not just closed. Any alternative suggestions appreciated.
Well, to put it in the plain words, the place is old school, cabins are wood-paneled and everything looks very old, however it is still very functional, and clean. The owner, is a straight shooter, polite, but straight forward gentleman, welcomed us, and after taking a payment, set us up in a changing cabin, cabin has a small walkway to the private sauna area, and once you are done, just go back, close the door and ring the buzzer, so the sauna can be cleaned for the next use. Overall a positive experience, although I feel bad, we almost accidently left with two of their towels, and they will call you on that :
What an amazing experience. My first steam bath - it won't be my last, and it definitely won't be my last at Finland Steam Baths. Affordable, sparkling clean, authentically Finnish and the owner was wonderful. Thank you for a great experience. Make sure you park OUTSIDE the baths on the street.
This place is an absolute gem. I work for a Finnish company and was looking for a Finnish Sauna and I stumbled upon this historic steam bath. I read an article in the Boston Globe and I had to go. My fiancée and I just finished our steam bath and we feel incredible. Old school feel, and as the website mentions, it can be a bit sketchy looking outside, but Finland Steam baths are extremely clean and have managed to encapsulate Finnish culture and a great steam bath experience at a very reasonable price. The owner is very nice and welcoming. Thank you so much.
I am still warm and grinning, loose and floppy from this amazing experience. From the tubular bells and rocks in the waiting room, we waited to be called. The upstairs is a row of doors, classic doubled dressing rooms lead into a shower room, then into the steam room. Control of the heat and steam is a lever that sprays water on a super-hot radiator. Smell of cedar and steam. Blessed heat on a winter evening. So good.
So, is it still open? I saw a review from 3 months ago that made me think it is. We drove an hour to get there and they were closed, but the signs are still up. I've tried to call a few times, no answer and no outgoing message with the hours. It's too far away to just keep trying. So sad because I was really looking forward to it. :'
Perfect way to defrost in the winter. You get your own private changing room, shower and steam room. Place is super clean but maintains orginal character from 100 years ago!
Great Set up, private changing room connected to a private shower, connect to your private sauna. Very friendly staff and that walked us through our first time.
Ooh sweet sweet finland steam baths ... Who knew about this place? But don't take my word for it ....So it"s 2021 and that mean go book your next Finland Steam Bath,
