Finnish cousins invited me to a annual Scandinavian Craft Market and Lunch the 1st Sat in Nov. Many choices of imported food, glassware or hand made crafts from MI based members & associates. 3 modestly priced lunches of either a pasty, Swedish meatballs or a savory stew were each delicious in their own way.
Sweetest ladies ever. I wanted to hug them all. The cardamon bread! Go get some.
Beautiful sharing of an unfamiliar culture. We really enjoyed it!
Small family atmosphere with wonderful food offerings on Fridays.
My visit to the center was a walk down memory lane to the Copper Country. I picked up some holiday gifts and a few treats. My next visit will be to take in one of the events they host - a dinner or perhaps a concert. The staff are welcoming and very knowledgeable of Finnish culture and the upper peninsula as well.
Really enjoyed the film and conversation with my Finnish friends!
Never rent this place Staff is so rude. They will spoil your party.
About every other month or so, the Finnish Center sells pasties to the public. They bake them themselves and they are delicious! Check the date of the next pasty sale on their monthly newsletter. Pick up a newsletter at the Finnish Center or online.
