I’ve had inconsistent experiences here, but still give them 4 stars overall. They helped me get 4 new tires at a price I could afford, they’re always willing to fill them up for free if I stop with low pressure, and they seem like honest/hard-working guys/gals. However, I have had issues with them recommending that I get something replaced that has already been replaced by them - for example, they wanted me to replace an air filter that had been replaced by them a few months before...had I not remembered that, they would have done it and charged me for it! Still, I feel comfortable taking my car here for routine maintenance.
I needed to swap tires between two different vehicles. This location was close and offered a good price. My issues started when I arrived. The price was double what I was quoted when setting the appointment. It was still an OK price and the manager offered a discount. This is the only reason I rated them two stars. The next issue was the time taken to service the vehicles. It took almost three times longer than I was told. Their explanation was that the run flat tires were difficult to mount. For a tire shop, that should not be an issue. After leaving, both cars almost immediately had tire pressure warnings. An easy fix for someone like myself, but no one should be leaving from a tire service only to discover their tires are filled 10-15 psi low. Of the eight tires, only two were near the proper inflation specs. Finally, the shop did not replace the valve stems. While not vital, this can present a safety issue. On top of not replacing the valve stems, the shop did not put the valve stem caps back on several of the tires. A minor issue, but I had just spent $5 a day before on a new set of chrome ones... more money wasted. I have lived near this shop for almost 20 year and have had consistent problems with their service. I stopped using their services for almost a decade before returning for this work. I will not be returning.
Not impressed, overall. Placed an order for new tires from TireRack - this Firestone location is one of their recommended installers, and is a few blocks from my office, so it's an easy choice. They arrived a few days later, and I made an appointment for installation. I arrive for my appointment - check in takes a few minutes and I'm on my way back to work. About two hours later, I get a call - telling me that I need a new cabin air filter, but apart from that, my car was ready to go. I thought this was weird - One: I just replaced that cabin air filter no less than two months ago. Two: Aren't they just supposed to be installing my tires? They actually had time to disassemble my glove box and inspect my cabin air filter? Right. Obvious annoying upsell. I make the five minute walk back to Firestone to pick up my car, and see that it's still up in the air with no wheels on it. Odd. I inquire - "Oh, no, we were only calling about your cabin filter." I press further, and I get "Oh, well, the tech marked it complete but he's just getting started on it. Sorry." Beginning to get frustrated with this experience - so I walk back to the office. Thirty minutes later, I get another call. Alignment is off, but the car is ready. I walk back and pick up my car - they press me harder to buy an alignment service. I was aware that I needed the service before I came in, but after my experience I'll pass with this location. I pick up my car; tires are on - the correct tires! But my car is now filthy. All four wheels are covered in sticky white residue. I assume this is something they use to help mount the tire on the wheel. But the tech made zero effort to clean any of it off. Oddly, there is some other sort of residue on my windshield. Looks like they had some kind of sticker or something there. Again, zero effort to clean up or return my vehicle to me in the same presentable condition it arrived in. It took me a least a half hour to clean the gunk off the wheels. Bad experience, all around.
I have been taking my vehicles here for over a dozen years. The service I receive is always professional and timely. Manager Brad Warnock knows the value of customer service and makes it a pleasure to patronize this business. This store does a high volume of business with downtown employees and various fleets of vehicles. They understand the power of treating their customers well. I recommend this store highly.
People are quick to submit complaints when they are unhappy. However, I wanted to take a moment to share my experiences with Firestone. First of all, it's hard to find an honest auto shop for services. I have been going to Firestone for over 5 years. They have always been honest with the services they recommend and have never been aggressive. I was most pleased in how they recently treated me after a service they completed went bad. They took care of the problem and reimbursed me for the service. They showed me they were interested in keeping me as a customer. Nowadays, it's difficut to find a company that cares about customer service; it's nice to see Firestone is committed to customer service and honesty.
Flat tire and being brand new to Phoenix, I lucked out when this was the closest tire shop to my house. Everyone there is so nice and helpful, I felt very taken care of. I plan on taking my car here for any and all car needs because they do such a great job.
This place deserves 0 stars to begin with. Paid for insurance on all 4 tires and when I need to replace 2 of them they are trying to charge me almost $400?? What’s the insurance for then?? Complete scam horrible service and rude manager. I recommend 83rd and Peoria location or 3rd ave and Osborn over this place. Horrible service and staffed with con artists. The other locations where able to help and give me reasonable prices. This location is Ridiculous!
Awesome help! We limped in there with a flat and they got us fixed right up! The manager Brad was great! He took care of all our warranty work for us through a secondary warranty company. Super easy to work with and very helpful guys! Will definitely go back there.
I gave my car away with a fairly ambiguous description of the problem it was making a weird noise, and they quickly found the solution to the problem within 1-2 hours and my car was as good as new! For free! As always, you guys are spectacular mechanics! Thank you again!
Amazing service here. I got a flat on the I-17 on my way to Tucson, and had to get a new tire. They installed it quickly, and were very helpful and understanding of my situation. Highly recommend.
