First Christian Church

Overall I really look back fondly on my years spent in this church! I attended from midway through high school until going to college, and I had a lot of personal and spiritual growth happen especially in the high school small groups. I also got to play on the worship team in the main service, and that was such a great worship experience too!! This church was such a wonderful home for me during my high school years. My only real dissatisfaction with FCC is that a few months after joining the high school small groups, I lent one of my favorite books to one of the small group leaders. I've contacted them multiple times, as well as all the other small group leaders in the church to try and get it back; but the leader I lent it to claimed not to have it anymore and suggested that I maybe had lent it to someone else. This has happened several times over and over in my endeavor to get my book back, but nothing's come of it and as such it seems that, whoever has my book, I probably won't get it back-- which is sad, not only was it a good book but someone very influential in my life gave it to me. That continuing incident is really unfortunate, but other than that the church really is pretty great. I connected with one of my closest friends through it, and I'll always treasure the time and memories I had here.

Mostly just working for money to support expansion. Felt pressured and more time spent on marketing than Christ

I received a warm welcome by everyone when I attended this church for the first time last week. The worship team was excellent and the pastor's sermon was also wonderful, I look forward to attending and making this my new place of worship here in Champaign.
