We are a community church that encourages spiritual seekers, whether they are just beginning to answer an inner nudge, or are ever-deepening their relationship with God in Jesus Christ.
Are these church people weirdos, nerds, hypocrites and heretics?
Short answer: yup!
And if you're a weirdo, nerd, hypocrite or heretic, there's room for you, too.
Our congregation is about 40% LGBTQ. We are old, middle-aged, and mostly young (our biggest demographics are under age 5, and age 22 to 45). Folks stuck on our church were raised Roman Catholic, UCC, fundamentalist evangelical, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Mormon, Unitarian, Jewish, atheist, agnostic, and the fastest-growing religious demographic in America, "none." We are Black, Latino, Asian, multiracial, and (mostly, but we're working on it) Anglo. Our families are one-parent, two-parent, adoptive, bio, queer, straight, family of choice, happily single, and all-of-the-above. We tend to be theologically ultra-progressive but we love the healthy tension that comes from stimulating dialogue and difference.
Most of all: we are perfectly imperfect.
We are a community of curious and creative spiritual seekers, committed to learning and embodying a progressive practice of Christianity. We walk in the way of Jesus, striving to love kindness and do justice for all people. We are of many minds and spiritual beliefs, but one body in loving service to others and in joyful worship of the One who made us.
