Incompetent worker. I came in for eye exam. I asked to fitted for contacts lens. The receptionist tells me its has to be medical needed. I stated to her I use contacts and glasses all my life I need to see. She said you have glasses on you need to medical condition to use contacts. If I use your insurance they wont pay contacts lens and i express to her they pay for both. she like if you want contacts exam here you have to pay $199 why would i pay that if its cover by my insurance. She like its not medically needed because your wearing glasses. Your not a doctor its medically needed if I need it to see. I said let the doctor tell me that. what bother me the most they knew I was getting contact exam and my insurance said they expect just because I walk in with glasses your giving me issue.
I've been a customer for 6 years now with the same employer and same union. Over the years when my yearly eye exam is due I dred walking in because the receptionist seems to always victimize the customer in regards to whats covered. Wouldn't you think after 6 years you would know what the customer insurance covers? And if your having a problem with certain customers insurance put a note in the persons file instead of just saying you have to pay out of pocket. Only one person I try to deal with is Yvette due to the facts so will go the extra mile and make calls to David vision instead of making it seems like an over bearing task. Sad! I have taken my business else where.
Very rude and unprofessional ,disrespectful manager, doesn’t know how to respect people and the dumb front desk also doesn’t know how to check the insurance. They prefer people to see the doctor without checking insurance and then charge them out of pocket when they have insurance! It’s a rubbery! God will take care of it! The manager is liar! You said l don’t have any copy! So how do you know l want pay $40?? So this is proof that you didn’t do your job properly! Don’t worry! Karma will take care of you!
This was my first time at Flatbush Optical and I can't say enough nice things about the staff. All of them. The ladies behind the counter were kind, professional and checked me in quickly. I had an appointment for a contact lens exam and I waited maybe 10 min to be called which is amazing. I've never had such a short wait for an eye exam. The tech who did my preliminary exam was so sweet! She explained everything she was going to do, was warm and funny. The doctor was also very professional and gave me great recommendations for new contacts. Both the tech and doctor wiped all equipment down before and after so everything was clean. While I was there, they got really busy but kept everyone happy and it was organized. I was in and out in an hour with new contacts. I will definitely go back to this location. It was a great experience all around.
Convenient location that takes my vision plan. Diverse staff work here and it shows in the varying levels of professionalism. The guy who opens up the shop and the lady who schedules appointments are five star service, they really bright up the atmosphere. The store follows masked protocol, and it is a clean environment. Limited selection of frames. TL;DR: Expect to take time off work between half day to full day if you intend to stop by for full service. Book appointment weeks in advance. Bring a copy of your benefits coverage with you to make your life easier.
This optical it’s nice inside and out, even tho it’s not a big store it’s cozy and well put together I been going there with my 3 boys for a few years now hopefully I will continue with the service
They have no eyes for people on full Medicare. The lady and doctor who check my eyes were very nice and professional. Can't say the same for the ones in the front. I give the two stars for the front and five for the other two doctors.
I went to Flatbush Optical recently to get a glasses prescription. Literally everybody I encountered—from the front desk staff to the optometrist—was friendly, helpful, and professional. I was in and out quickly. A great experience all around. Thank you!!
Do not waste your time here. The chain needs to review the individuals they choose to represent their company. Very unprofessional and distasteful experience. The way they answer the phones much less speak to people, its unwarranted. These people clearly hate their jobs and working with the public. I will say there is one guy and he is probably the nicest one. Not enough reason for me to return though.
ABSOLUTE SCAM. They charged me $1000 for the lenses protection. While telling me it’s “10.25”, and while charging my INSURANCE. Absolute scam. Do not buy anything from this place!!! Save your time and money. They are refusing refund. A scam !!!
