Service can be slow but at least they're all friendly, personable people that will take an active interest in your life if you become a regular. There's a fantastic selection of booze but that's about the only thing worth coming here for. Back when there was a sandwich shop there was nothing appetizing on their menu. This isn't a grocery store Foggy Bottom Grocers it is not, and it's only a convenience store for frat types. You're better off going to CVS if you actually need to buy sundries.
Awesome place! Good for picking up pre-packaged sandwiches or microwave meals, along with chips and drinks. Also various other stuff like cups. They have a tiny area for drinking on-tap beers and an espresso maker.
Fat Pauly has cool ranch Doritos yum, and serves the best grilled cheese I have literally ever had in my life. Gets kinda busy sometimes though and may take a while for the food but overall is really good. :
FoBoGro is a great place to get a sandwich to bring back to the office for lunch. The Deluxe Grilled Cheese and the Wellesley are both favorites of mine. During the school year, it gets very crowded with GW students and I've consistently noticed that the staff work pretty slowly behind the counter. So, plan on waiting for longer than you'd expect even if the line doesn't seem too long. But, the sandwiches are worth the wait!
They have a pretty varied selection of things. Perfect for college students! Prices aren't great and the one time I bought milk there it was VERY spoiled. However, they have a good selection of wine and ice cream.
I went here today for a sandwhich. The options are great and the prices are not bad, compared to other lunch options in the Foggy Bottom area. I chose "The Cubano" I was expecting a normal Cuban sandwhich and it was, except they added bbq sauce and pulled porked was in it. It was a wonderful and tasty sandwhich, but I wanted more of the traditional Cuban. The staff was very friendly and they use Belly here, so I was able to get some points! The store was very cute and that is up stairs. I only wish they had a small area to sit down and eat. There is a park next door that you can eat in.
Friendly staff, tiny deli under store. No seating on site. Got the 'Hot Ronda' sandwich, bread was the perfect mix of soft and chewy, great deli meats and just enough spicy heat and tempature heat.
This wass probably a nice place but when we were there this weekend they barely had anything. The employee there explained that they are closing down which is why they don't really have anything. He was very friendly and gave us directions to the cvs to get some grocery items.
I would call this a convenience store, not a grocery. Their selection is far less than even 7-Eleven. Nice guys, but strange to not stock certain grocery basics like coffee and milk.
I wish I could give 0-stars. Yuck!!!!! DO NOT go near here. This Frat boy hangout is full of funky smells & nothing but potato chips & beer. So much for a GROCERY store!!!!!!
