Food Front Cooperative Grocery

One of the primary reasons for our moving into this neighborhood was ➜ proximity to Food Front! We'd shopped here for years, and have always had terrific interactions with staff and food alike! The food offered is of the highest quality we have been able to find in the area. I am happy to pay a little more for fair treatment (pay/benefits) of employees, food that tastes this good, is sourced locally, and/or are supplied by companies with ethical standards! I especially love the deli, meat/seafood, and cheese departments. Again, the employees have always been fun, enthusiastic, and helpful in our experience. If I did have any beefs, I would [and do] bring it up directly with management. I have had minor complaints in the past, ad they have bent over backwards to explain to me the "why," behind changes made...and have accommodated = allowed me to place special orders in many cases ~ to accommodate my tastes.

5 years ago I would have given this shop 5 stars! I really used to love being here. Although I love the store, I feel like the morale has changed inside. Many of times I feel I am doing a disservice of asking any of the emplyees(especially people in produce and up front) a question. A lot of the times they are busy gossiping, or just there to socialize and you wait QUITE long time for them to begrudgingly help. It never used to be like this. The people in deli are nice, and near the cold grocery .. but otherwise, this place leaves a bad taste as far as service. And a few times even, I overheard one girl with red hair saying how terrible it is to work there, and how she can't stand it. I understand a lot of these people are younger and it's probably their first job, but management needs to maybe reel it in a bit. It seems more of a lax enviroment(a bar or something) than a store. I only write this because Of how I have felt the decline over the years. I feel like the professionalism of this location has really gone down the last few years, and because of the way it feels, I choose to shop at the other food front. I worked grocery for years, and know the ins and outs as my whole family is in grocery buying and marketing, and I just am sad to say I used to send people here, but now question that, as some have said a similar experience to mine.

Nice coop with nice selection of organic and natural food. Pricey, as most organic is. Some items are cheaper here than say at Fred Meyer natural food section.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Excellent produce, organic products, and allergen-free choices.
