Still a good local store to shop. Produce section small, but fresh. My wife loves the Poke' section. Their poke' is not salty like alot of other grocery stores like Salt Lake Safeway. All the staff are really helpful and the cashiers are good fun to talk story with.
Today's shopping experience was fast. I had a list and Foodland had it all. Checkout was a breeze. I also had points for my purchases which qualified me for a $25 Foodland gift card. I wasn't expecting that. But "Thank you Jesus for it"... tis the Season to be Jolly!
Employees are basically friendly n helpful. The store has your basic food supply with sections for hot foods n pastries. Kudos for having a store to support and convenience of the community in Kalihi.
Love this neighborhood grocery store. They have a good selection of grocery items. Although, they should consider renovating to bring it up to what some of the other Foodland stores have done.
This is my favorite Foodland.. although get plenty people that look unhoused and small kine- scary, it’s my favorite store ! The employees are kind and make conversation—- not grouchy— I try to be kind to everyone as we do not know what battles they may be going through… I Returned expired MAIKAI’ PECANS… Purchased 10/27/2022– expired 11/2/2022 ..Customer service RHALIEN sp? was so professional and kind. He advised me to go get another fresher one.. upon walking towards the rack , all the OLD PECANS were STILL THERE !! I brought them up to the customer service trying to be helpful, lol. Again, RHAILEN was humble and accommodating, processed my refund, and apologized, sincerely.. Please give this wonderful young man a raise !!! … and some praise…
Foodland is the only solely locally owned supermarket in Hawaii. They’re known to have better poke than other supermarket chains. This store is conveniently located in a small shopping center with fast foods, an office supply store, Korean & Local food places, a big thrift store, and more. Friendly staff.
I was in the area, and they were stocked with the Maikai turkeys for my reward. Yay, Happy Thanksgiving meal is set.
They have more local food choices, they have almost everything! Very convenient. They have poke, bakery, cakes, flowers, leis, bento, etc.
Foodland offers one of the best poke bowls for me here on Oahu. I highly recommend this location and the one in Ewa. They dont disappoint. Fulfill your fix of this local kine grind.
Super inflated prices. Almost $10 for a gallon of milk. A block down at Costco you get two for the same price. $9 for a dozen eggs… come on. Predatory practices that prey on people using food stamps and WIC who are forced to shop at places like this. As a tax payer , it infuriates me. As someone who once struggled, it disgusts me to see these ridiculous mark ups.
