If you’re thinking of enrolling, just do it! Amazing studio. The teachers genuinely care about each student. It doesn’t matter if you have never had a music lesson in your life, or if you are a seasoned professional - Fox Music has a really comprehensive curriculum and a caring community of students, so everyone feels welcome. Even if you feel terrified to sing in front of others, just commit to trusting the Fox Music process and before you know it you’ll be singing on stage confidently! I’d highly recommend Fox Music for all ages and abilities. They do a really incredible job of making everyone feel welcomed and comfortable.
My son has been taking piano lessons at Fox Music for the past year, and they have been AMAZING! My older children took lessons at other music schools in the area, and Fox Music has been the best experience by far. Their customer service team is always positive and helpful. Although my child is reserved, the teachers put him at ease right away. He started with no musical experience, and now he's reading music and playing whole songs with ease. He has stuck with piano longer than any other activity he's tried, and I credit that to Fox Music.
I have been going to Fox Music Since February 1st, 2022 and my experience has been nothing short of amazing!! My vocal coach is Eden. She is very knowledgeable of her craft and has exceeded every expectation that I’ve had. Eden has helped me restore and strengthen my voice from where it once was to where it’s going. You will not regret taking lessons here, I know I haven’t.
My aim is for a completely honest review of the positives and negatives from my personal opinion of my time spent at fox music. Positives: I made great friends Helped my performance abilities Gained confidence Recitals were a great way to get over performance anxiety and were really fun! Negatives: My contract was unbreakable unless I moved a certain distance away. I believe my vocal abilities got worse and I had to pay a different singing instructor to fix it. I found Saul intimidating but nice and the other instructors I worked with that are no longer there were welcoming, supportive, nice and very good salespeople. I don’t know anything about the current instructors. The contract is a certain amount of time, they told me 3 years non negotiable. I was told by my friend that I made there that they told her the same thing she said she wasn’t interested and so they reduced the length of time. The contract only includes group lessons and I didn’t find them useful for anything unless I got to perform that day and for socialising. Actual singing lessons cost even more on top of the contract cost while I attended. During COVID when all in person classes were cancelled they offered online group lessons as a replacement, the contract stated we had to keep paying even though we hadn’t signed up for online lessons and it didn’t matter if we wanted them which I didn’t. At one point while I was there, they offered anyone who left a review a free lesson. I do not know if this has happened since. While I was there, if I had to put the contract on hold then I was to keep paying while it was on hold and they would add the additional time to the end, I found they had forgotten about that for me and had to remind them. I wouldn’t take back my time at Fox Music because I met some wonderful people and I was new to the city so it was helpful to make friends. I unfortunately ended up wasting a lot of money on unused classes after cancelling half way through the contract part let because of COVID and partly because I had started having trouble singing on pitch, something I never struggled with before. I personally think their business practices are questionable albeit incredibly intelligent and probably kept them afloat during COVID and I think that they weren’t useful as singing instructors for me. There was a clause in my contract that said if Fox were taken to court then even if a hole was found in the terms of the contract then one of the terms is that the judge would add that term to the existing contract and you’d have to pay their lawyer fees as well as automatically lose the case this is paraphrased and I do not know if this clause is still included in the contract, I have reason to believe it doesn’t.
I took piano lessons for 10 years, starting in first grade. I took guitar lessons from 10th to 12th grade. Throughout high school,I sang soprano with the school choir and the madrigals. After college, I joined various church choirs from 1994 to the present time. I previously studied voice privately for 3 years with two different teachers before coming to Fox Music. What I Have Learned at Fox Music 1. Assigned daily exercises given by Fox Music teachers are a huge part of vocal development. 2. Being in person and in a group setting makes learning more fun and helps with anxiety issues. 3. Understanding how to modify your voice through vowel modification and all the additional techniques taught at Fox Music can help anyone improve their performance. 4. The positive encouragement and reinforcement received from the teachers and classmates helps build greater self esteem. 5. No one is ever too old to pursue your talents and ambitions. About Becoming a “Fox Factor” Judge Each class has a portion dedicated to curriculum. I learned many important facts involving vocal development just by sitting and paying attention in class the past 27 months. The Fox Factor Judge test was a combination of knowing the facts presented in the curriculum, along with some common sense questions. I enjoy being a judge because I can encourage someone and provide positive feedback that will help to improve someone’s confidence level and vocal development. It helps me to see that no one is “perfect” and we all make mistakes. This helps to be easier on myself when I make a mistake. I cannot say enough good things about being a student at Fox Music! My confidence level is high, my anxiety level is much lower , my vocal performance is much improved ! It’s worth the time and monetary investment !
Saul, Amanda, and Eden are great. I never thought I could sing, but they've helped me understand the mechanics of my voice and the science behind vocal development. The staff here is also as personable as they are knowledgeable. Fox Music does a terrific job of building a community where you can make friends and have fun while getting better vocally.
Amanda was my voice coach and it was so amazing to learn everything that I did. I had precisely zero natural music talent going into it, but Amanda made sure to build a comfortable environment that made it easier to actually try without feeling too embarrassed. I loved learning how to sing, but also about how your voice works and the way musicians use tools to help them perform. If you’re unsure about taking voice lessons, I would 100 percent recommend.
My son, James, has been taking piano lessons with Mrs. Fox for a couple years now and he is improving immensely, and having so much fun while doing it. He always looks forward to his weekly lessons, and says that Mrs. Fox is one of his favorite people! Not only is he learning to play the piano, but he is also growing more and more proficient in reading music and understanding the fundamentals of music theory, which is so important at this age! Highly recommend!!
I took piano with Mrs. Fox for quite some time when I was younger and now I'm working with Miss Eden in the theatre/showtime classes. Both have been incredible experiences that have helped me grow as an artist in many ways. I've made friends via these programs and made lots of memories via their spring/summer programs. Best music school I've been to in my 10+ years of music arts experience.
This was such a fun and rewarding experience! If you are deciding whether you should sign up for classes, I 100% recommend doing it! I went in with almost zero experience reading music or playing the piano, and I left my lesson with Eden feeling extremely proud of myself and excited to learn more next time! It was a very welcoming and supportive environment from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave!
